The essence of this group is predicated on the idea that Global Awareness is the first step on the path to peace and global justice.

With this idea at its foundation, the group was started in January 2003 to explore different countries by highlighting a "country-in-focus" (in reverse alphabetical order) each week, and discussing various aspects of life there.

Starting January 2006, the group slightly changed its method, and started focusing more on discussing first-hand accounts of people, places, and cultures of specific countries where members of the group are currently living or travelling.

The first installment of this will be live blog updates from Hany/Keli/Aron/Emily/Cameron's trip to Central America, and discussions/deeper exploration of whatever they end up encountering. The public version of the blog will also be available at http://hany.com/blog
