Agatha has these skills... she would have used them on Lars, but she didn't have
any instruments with her at the time...

I got a 90% Tarsus Beetle due to the dratted Passholdt Bridge rescue question; I
had to look /that/ up to get 100%.

Pretty good questions, and the scores are witty.

I was just going to make my own flag, not anything for money. I understand about
the format, so just a nice clear image? (Have you seen those cutting sheets you
can get at walmart? Essentially a translucent piece of tough plastic about
12"x18", meant as a quick and dirty cutting board. One of those would make a
good stencil, I think. Hard to cut, duh, but durable.)

Did he think Gil tried to kill Klaus? Does he not remember?

Well, he may have felt duty bound to save him, but the Baron is pretty much
roundly disliked in many parts of Europa (See: pile of attackers Gil dispatched
in the Hospital).

I would also be hesitant to admit to saving someone many people hate.

Actually, I think this is a good spot for a break. We're at a "what
will happen next" spot, not a "OMG how will they deal with that"
spot. And I have been wondering how the Weasel Queen would try to
kill Othar and how it wouldn't work.

We know that three of the lapinemoths are actually Agatha, Zeetha and Krosp in
disguise, so I think "how it will fail" is simple. My question is: how long will
they enjoy the show before cutting in. Oh, and I _SOOOO_ want Zeetha slap Othar
senseless (with her shovel, of course) for breaking the heart of that poor
construct-spark girl who only wanted to be loved for once in her life...

I believe the technical term for that is "evil and rude":

While all these assumptions about what ATC Higgs may or may not have
thought are interesting, I do believe the correct answer is a very
simple one:

ATC Higgs was OFF DUTY!

Think about it. There you are, after a trying day, kicking back with a

Why is anybody with his talent and ability still a third class airman? I think
he just doesn't want the responsibility. If he lets people know he has skills
they're going to be asking him to use those skills. If he lets Gil know who he
is, there's a chance (remote, I know) that he might end up being pressganged
into entering Castle Heterodyne on a crazy rescue mission, which I think we can
all agree is generally to be avoided.

There is one trick question on the last page.

Myself? I first ranked as Glassvitch, but I managed to identify the incorrect
ones ("who carried who" I remembered for one, but mixed up the two others, the
sewers' names, then got stuck until I gave a second thought to the falling to
flying machine one), one at a time, which saw me rose the ranks to Master Payne,
Tarsus Beetle, then Klaus? Agatha?

Of course, one's trick question may be the next guy's no-brainer: Stereo

Die Schnappe---

Oh, Higgs is definitely in line for a big promotion, a huge award, and some
serious money. My thinking? Simple:

Higgs is in the military. Any Private that saves the General has to be hugely
and publically rewarded, especially when he took a great deal of injury in the
process. To do otherwise is bad for morale and encourages others to not bother.
Higgs may not be a private per se, but he is fairly low ranking and he saved the
equivalent of the President, King, Prime Minister, take your pick. You don't
get any bigger than that. It can't get around that the boss doesn't care about
the man who did him a rock-solid. Klaus doesn't need rescuing often, to be
sure, but when it happens whoever is in a position to do so will know he is
gonna come out of it properly appreciated.

Now, I know there will be counter arguments to the effect that Klaus would want
to keep it quiet as he cannot afford to look week. Too late! Scuttlebutt
travels at the speed of light. EVERYBODY will know what happened, who did it,
and how Higgs was treated afterward.
At the bare minimum Higgs should be bumped up to Airman !1st Class, given the
equivalent to the Medal of Honor, and a hefty bag of gold. At most a Fiefdom
with enough lands and gold to maintain it. I think he'll be a petty captain or
somesuch in no time.

The only reason Higgs isn't already enjoying the benefits of his heroism is
because of the current crisis distracting everybody.

My personal crazy theory Friday entry from that time was that Higgs is a
Mechanicsburg plant in Klaus' forces and therefore has every reason to be
hanging out in a secret Jaeger bar. But the idea that the Jaegers just
think he's awesome is probably more likely.

I also think the extent of his injuries was probably exaggerated. Remember,
we heard his story third-hand.

It's something to do with what happened after she met Dimo, Oggie and Maxim,
doesn't it? Something they said doesn't quite jibe with their fealty to House
