This is a group that can be hard to describe.
It's for gifted people who have kids.
But it is about US, not about the kids.
This is not about how to get services-for-the-gifted in public schools.
This is not about how to choose a gifted-friendly homeschool curriculum.
This is about the PARENTS for a change.
It is about the changes and challenges we face inter- and intra-personally as gifted people who are engaged in the ongoing process of remaking ourselves and reforming our identities as parents.
Any gifted parent is welcome here. No credentials necessary.
You get to define "gifted" and "parent" for yourself.
If you think you're gifted, and need support - if you provide "parenting" services as a step, foster, adoptive, biological, grand, or any other category, you're in. If you're not a parent, and think you'll get something out of it, by all means, give it a shot, just understand that you are not the target audience for the list, and it won't likely change to suit your needs where they differ from those of the target audience.
The privacy of the group and it's members *will* be respected.
If you're a researcher, teacher, or other professional in the world of the gifted, you are welcome, (especially if you're also a gifted parent) but any solicitation of the membership for commercial, research, promotional or any other purposes will go through the moderator first. This is a matter of courtesy, and is also to keep you from getting yourself kicked off the list. :-)
Saving posts for your own personal reference is to be expected, but crossposting or forwarding other people's material should be done only with that individual's express written permission for each instance.
Trolls will be whacked without mercy, and at the sole discretion of the listowner and/or mods. Trolls will be so adjudged by their behavior only, and there is no appeal. The groups is worth too much to me to let someone disrupt it wantonly.
Thanks ~
Selena
