Welcome to the Georgetown Forum. This is a yahoo group / listserv run by the Citizens Association of Georgetown for the Georgetown neighborhood in Washington DC.

The Georgetown Forum is envisioned as a listserv/website where residents and community leaders can seek and exchange information on safety, local events, local businesses and services, and whatever else is relevant to the neighborhood.

Please feel free to add to our links page, upload documents or files, or create new polls on the site.

There are a few basic rules:
Posts should relate to Georgetown.
Announcements OK as long as they relate to Georgetown and aren't part of a mass mailing.
No spam.
No personal attacks or profanity.
Anyone joining the group under false pretences will be banned.

Advertising is prohibited but you may post recommendations for your favorite businesses and you may include a link to your business website in your email signatures or create a page on our site featuring your business if it is located in the neighborhood.
We reserve the right to moderate the list.

Replies to postings in this group go only to the author of the original post. If you are responding to a question and you believe the answer may be of interest to more than just the person asking the question, please send your message to the entire group. If you ask a question on the listserv and you believe the answers may be of interest to others, please compile the responses and post your compilation.

The messages from the georgetownforum group are archived on our website and may be searched. Go to www.georgetownforum.com , sign in, and either go down to the most recent messages section or click on "messages" in the left hand column. At the top of the messages you will see a search box. This will search previously posted content from the group.
