* Pilkington's patents:

* Clearly north of Tarr/Pamlico, west of Bath town: 20 Feb 1739, 16
Mar 1742, 25 Mar 1749.
* Probably north of Tarr/Pamlico, west of Bath: 15 Nov 1752 (600
Ac.),
* Clearly south of Tarr/Pamlico: 3 Mar 1738, 17 Mar 1740/1 (400 Ac),
25 Feb 1743.
* Probably east of Bath town: 3 Nov 1735.
* Probably south of Tarr/Pamlico: 17 Mar 1740/1 (300 Ac.), 15 Nov
1752 (550 Ac.), 15 Nov 1752 (500 Ac.).
* Of the uncertain patents, the 1735 patent mentions Edmund Tyson,
and the only Tyson patents before 1738 are east of Matchapungo
River. And no Tyson patent was north of Tarr and west or near
Tranter's Creek. Winifred Wilson, Seth's daughter, sold the 1735
patent in 1771 to Richard Evans. Wyriott Ormond's 1742 patent
probably adjoind this one.
* The 300 Ac. 1740/1 patent, mentions Hatt's Neck, Runney Marsh, and
Beach Ridge, none of which I can identify. But Hatt's Neck might
be a mistake for Hall's Neck. This land may have belonged later
to James Everett and then Peter Nelson.
* The 500 and 550 Ac. 1742 patents both Join Cornelius Tyson, which
puts them south of the Tarr almost surely. But the 600 Ac. 1742
patent may well be north of the Tarr.

"Likewise, I Give, bequeath and Divise to my Daughter, Winifrid, the
Plantation or Tract of Land whereon I now Dwell, together with all the
buildings, Marshes, Meadows, Woods and all appurtenances thereunto
belonging; likewise, two tracts of Land Containing twelve hundred and
Eighty Acres, Situate on Lemuel Cherry herring runs, and Purchased of
Mr. Allexander Lillington"

Our only source for the death of James [Singleton] is through the
Administrators Bond entered by George Moy on March 13, 1739.
Administrators appointed to settle the estate of James were: George Moy,
who was a sheriff of Bath County, Seth Pilkington, a merchant and Simon
Alderson, the Public Treasurer of Bath County. It was the custom during
the early years for the court to appoint three men, usually neighbors,
to administer a man's estate. Biography of James Singleton

I'm afraid I don't have anything on William Jr or Sr. Do you know if
they are linked to Edward Salter Sr who was
involved in several land
deeds in Pitt Co NC. in mid to late 1700s? I don't
know his dates, but he
married Anne Bonner who died in 1791. They had at
least one son,
