Any Civil War buffs here? I am trying to locate Inman's Hollow in
Missouri; a Civil War skirmish took place there on 7 July 1862.

My husband's family legend has it that a Jefferson Inman was shot to
death by one side for admitting that he fed the other side (not sure
which is which). I am looking for information about either event,
hoping to maybe tie the two together. Jefferson Inman is listed
with his wife, Maria, and children, Mordecai, James and Nancy, in
the 1860 Census. They were living in Wright County Missouri. In
1870, Maria and the children are listed in Arkansas living with
Maria's father. The family story is that they moved to Arkansas
after Jefferson's death. Mordecai, who was 12 in 1860, supposedly
knew one of the men who was responsible for his father's death. He
refused to go back to Missouri because he said if he saw the man he
would want to kill him and that he didn't want to kill anybody.

If you have ANY information, or suggestions where to look, I would
be very grateful.

I am doing research on my great grandfather, Dr. M. T. Larkin. I am
wondering if you would be able to help me or at least point me in the
right direction.

According to the family, his name was Thomas Arthur Larkin and his
first wife was Alcea Harrison. I have a letter that he wrote to his
daughter (my grandmother) in 1926 that states his name as Dr. M.T.
Larkin. It is written on letterhead that reads: Chirothesian Church
of Faith: Chirothesia Institute. He is listed at the top of the
letter as a Chirothesian and field lecturer on health. Apparently,
his second wife was also the same. Her name is on the letterhead as
S. Elizabeth Larkin, DD The address is 2030 Works Avenue, San Diego,
CA. This is the last form of contact that the family had with him.
We have no idea whatever happened to him or his second wife.

I am looking for information on, my g-g grandmother, Mary Emily
CULBERTSON'S biological family, as well as her adoptive family. All
I know is that she was adopted in Cincinnati, Ohio as a baby by a
wealthy family who already had a son, Andrew, probably in his teens,
and a daughter, Amanda, about 4 or 5 years old. Mary's birthdate is
January 16, 1852. Mary may have had a natural sister that was not
adopted by the CULBERTSONS, but was possibly named Sarah. I'm
assuming that Mary was her natural name. When Mary was about 8 years
old, the CULBERTSONS migrated to California, where they met with hard
times. Mary was then sent to live with the HOOD family who
eventually migrated to Oregon. There is no indication that she was
adopted by the Hoods. At the age of 14, in 1866, she married my
Great, Great Grandfather Joseph TESHERA.

I wonder if someone can help me with my problem. I have F T M
version 7 and decided to print off my family tree. I selected book
and selected which pages to print off - but unfortunately I selected
Timeline and - you guessed it - it just went on and on for hours.
Eventually I cancelled the print job so have 22 pages left not done
in the time line. Does anyone have any knowledge of Family Tree
Maker Software? I was also not sure where to start - I picked the
oldest ancestor I could find in my family line and came forward from
there. The decendent line only goes for 2 generations and I cannot
understand why? It should have gone right thru to my children and
grandchildren I thought? I am such a novice at this but want to get
the tree down on paper so I do not have to crank up the computer each
time I want to view something. Anyone that can help me I would
really appreciate some help. The book that came with the software is
so confusing - it gives too many options and I get lost before I go
anywhere. Waiting and hoping..... Elcie in NZ

Elcie,
I have FTM version 5, but assume it is similar to your newer version.
What you need to choose is "Genealogy report" for a complete print
out of your tree. Click "Contents" in your menu and choose the
number of generations you wish to have included. If you just want
an outline for quick reference, go to "View" on the menu &
choose "outline Descendant Chart". Again to to "Contents" and choose
the options available.
Hope this helps!

Crystal,
Have you tried using www.google.com to search? You can put in his
name and see what all pop's up. I have done this recently helping a
friend find her daughter's from a previous marriage. She hadn't
seen the girl's since the early 60's. They were reunited before
Christmas. Good luck in your search.

Dear relatives!

My name is Anton Musquetier and I live in The Netherlands.

My hobby is genealogy and currently I am tracing the descendents of
Maria Catharina Bosman, born 17-12-1858 (December 17th, 1858) in The
Hague, The Netherlands. Maria Catharina married Englebert Lodewijk
Musquetier (one of my ancestors) in The Hague and divorced him on 26-
02-1901 (February 26th, 1901) also in The Hague.

According to the parish register she departed for America taking her
4 children along.

Maria Catharina was a daughter of Hendrik Willem Frederik Bosman and
Maria Brinkman and I have been able to discover her ancestry to as
early as 1682.

Her children were all born in Amsterdam: Maria Catharina in 1882,
Engelbert Lodewijk in 1883, Hendrika Petronella in 1885 and Johanna
Geertruide in 1886. These children were registered at birth with the
family name Musquetier, however, according to family stories, they
changed their name to Bosman in the USA.

If they changed their last name, they could easily have changed their
first names.

Date of Departure: March 24, 1898 Port of Departure: Rotterdam
Vessel: SS Rotterdam

Date of Arrival: April 03, 1898 Port of Arrival: New York, USA

1.    Marie Bosman    (female)        Line 24:    Age 38; married;
born Holland; last residence The Hague;
                                                     final destination
in USA - Commack, New York; meeting husband
                                                     E. Bosman in
Commack, New York

2. Marie Bosman (female) Line 25: Age 14; born Holland
3. Herman Bosman (male) Line 26: Age 13; born Holland
4. Cecilia Bosman (female) Line 27: Age 11; born Holland
5. Johanna Bosman (female) Line 28; Age 10; born Holland
Does the above sound familiar to you? I mentioned the full names of
the children hoping that they might have become a tradition in your
family, maybe even Anglicized. If you are a descendent, I would
appreciate very much if you could

e-mail me at musquetier@... – Not only did I trace the ancestors
of Bosman till 1682 but also the ones of Musquetiers back to 1495.

Warm regards,

Anton Musquetier.

DEAR MR. McCUE,

I DID LOOK AT ONE SITE THAT HAD THE DEATH INDEX ON IT.
THE UNFORTUNATE THING FOR ME IS I DO NOT KNOW AN
EXACT BIRTHDATE OR ANY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, SO
BASICALLY ITS LITERALLY LIKE A NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK.
THE INFORMATION I HAVE ON HIM IS VERY SCARCE, AND IN
MY SEARCH HAS NOT HELPED ME VERY MUCH AT ALL. THANK
YOU FOR RESPONDING TO MY POSTING. I WILL LOOK AT SOME
OF THE LINKS YOU HAVE LISTED BELOW.

THANK YOU,
CYNTHIA SOUTH HOLACIK
