I am researching the family of Alfred-Emelien,
Comte de Nieuwerkerke, who was prominent under Napoleon
III. He was born April 16, 1811 and died
January
19, 1892. After the fall of Napoleon III, he lived in
England and Italy, but returned to Paris where he died.
His father is stated to have been a gentleman of the
bedchamber to Charles X of France. Could anyone supply me
with more information about his parentage or siblings
or tell me where this information might be
available.
Very many thanks in advance.
William de

Hi Rick!

My father used to tell me a story
about a "Mr. Buffmeyer" who lived in either Labam, WA.
or Portland, OR. and who was a Rosacrucianist.

According to the story, Mr. Buffmeyer could teleport
himself out of body and travel throughout the world. He
used to use his mind to tell people to send him a
small piece of wood, which he had them cut in a certain
configuration. Eventually, Mr. Buffmeyer had a collection of
these pieces from all over the world...and they fit
together like a jigsaw puzzle.

My father was a boy
when he knew Mr. Buffmeyer, and the name may have been
Buffenmeyer (my dad's memory wasn't always
perfect).

Dad has passed away, but I am sure of the name. It is
quite rare. you may be able to find records on this man
and he may be related to you.

I know the story
sounds outlandish, but my dad told it to me at least a
hundred times. I remember the name.

Good luck!
-Timotheus :-)

Hi Rick!

I probably have the spelling
wrong. The Rosicrucians are a group of "spiritualists"
who delve into things paranormal. They are a pretty
old group. I think some of our founding fathers were
members (or was it the Masonic Temple?)

There is a
website on them: <a href=http://www.amorc.org/

find something written about Mr. Buffmeyer in their
records.

Good luck! -Timotheus

Hello to All! This is my first Yahoo Club. All my
spare computer time I spend trying to research all the
branches of my family and my husbands, via the internet. I
am anxious to be of help to those I can, and am in
hopes that you all have access to some good data bases
or software of your own that could be of help to me.
My surnames that I am researching include, Crable,
Myrick, Ogle, Chambers, Whitaker, York, and Correll.
Thanks in advance for any and all help!

done any research on that line yet. I do know that
this branch of Whitaker's came from the area around
Tazwell, VA and some moved to Parkersburg, WV. I suppose I
could find out more if this sounds promising. You can
