Subject: Kitty Tree

When my son was just a toddler, he was fascinated with the Christmas tree. He
wanted to touch the ornaments and wanted to take them off the tree and replace
them. My solution to this dilemma was to purchase a small tree that was meant
just for him. We made paper and felt and wooden ornaments and other unbreakable
decorations for his tree. He was content and left the "family tree" alone. He
played with his tree for hours at a time.
Household pets are also attracted to Christmas trees and decorations, especially
cats. Anything hanging down from the tree is an open invitation for them to swat
or pull. Tinsel, I'm told, is not healthy for pets, and yet the sparkles are so
fascinating to them.
I wondered if creating a tree just for the family cat might be a good idea, and
it proved to be just that.
The kitty's tree is a small one, even smaller than the one I got for my son when
he was young. The tree stands only about eighteen inches high.
On our playtime tree, I placed cat toys, cheap, unbreakable ornaments, and
bells. Ribbons and yarn hang down, inviting our cat to pull and swat at them....

Subject: Baby Boy Names
pioxevdhuytt

A baby brings joy and happiness. It also carries forward a bit of you. Perhaps
the most important function a parent undertakes after the birth of a boy is to
select a name for him. Most parents would like the name to be special, and mean
something to their son when he grows up.
A son for many holds a special place. Since ancient times a son is seen to be
the "one to carry on the family." Naming a son can be quite emotional and often
family traditions come into play'in many families sons carry into the next
generation the family name, which may be centuries old.
Be practical and take up the task like modern-day parents. Buy a beautiful
inspiring notebook and write down your thoughts. Would I like my son to carry
forward a tradition or heritage? Would I like him to be proud of his roots? Or
shall we strike out and name him something different? Weigh the pros and cons of
all these options.
Call over the family or clan for an impromptu get-together and make the "name
choosing" a collective effort. Glance into family legends and history. Study the
family tree and how different generations were named. Find out if anyone in the
family was famous or illustrious, like a poet, a painter, or writer. Is there an
explorer or adventurer hidden among your ancestors? Discover a pioneer who may
have sailed the ocean to bring his family to a new land. Make a list of such
possibilities....

Researching your family history can be a very personally fulfilling
adventure. It can throw up surprizes and let skeletons out of the
family tree. In your family history you might have royalty, knights,
pirates, convicts, executed persons, rich people, poor people.
Researching you family tree can take you all over the world. Broaden
your perspective, learn more about who you are. It also might teach
you respect for the sacrifices of others to help you to where you are
today, or at least broaden your perspective due to the fact you are
likely to come across a variety of people who in a small part make
you - you.
Further it can help you appreciate that all humans are just distant
relatives. Consider this is you go back 20 generations (assuming of
course there are merging branches which there will be) you quickly
get to one million ancestors - thats alot of people. In other words
take any person/stranger sitting next to you at random and you will
probably be linked somewhere in the past - there just weren't that
many people living over 1000 years ago compared to our now current 6
billion world family. The point is this - with this in mind it
becomes clear that as human beings we are just one big family....

It is estimated that almost one in every four American people claim
some kind of Irish roots. This is an amazing statistic given that the
entire population of Ireland is just over five million people. During
the famine times in Ireland in the mid 18th century literally over
one million people starved to death while another million people fled
to the four corners of the globe. America was the preferred
destination of choice but the route was a treacherous and perilous
one for those brave enough to take it.
A whole new industry has now sprung up in Ireland with thousands of
Irish Americans tracing their family roots every year. Ronald Reagan
and John F. Kennedy being but two famous Irish American names.
Genealogy has become big business in Ireland in the past decade with
dozens of companies only too happy to assist eager clients trace
their family origins. Family crest names and family tree charts are
the most common items sought after.
Imagine however being able to actually own your own little piece of
Ireland, complete with title deed for less than an evening's
entertainment? Couple that with an original heart rendered poem in
parched paper detailing the history of this piece of land and you
have an ideal gift for any family member of friend with an Irish
attachment. This gift is all the more unique in that the plots of
land in question are bogland, which the Irish government and local
agencies are stringently trying to protect as a piece of Irish
heritage. Bogland is where turf is cut and is unique to certain parts
of Ireland. Turf is a fuel that is burned in fires and smells
beautiful in comparison to other fuels used in fires....

pioxevdhuytt

The family stories are the key. You have been collecting dry bits of
information and facts for some time. Your search for your ancestors has
given you a glimpse into the past. But the research can also be
frustrating and intimidating. What do I do with these facts? How do I
present this information so that everyone can appreciate the challenges
and sacrifices that my ancestors made? The facts take time to collect,
but the stories pop up at the most unexpected times and are the key to
making your tree come alive for the rest of your family.
Your family history, your heritage, is more than just dates and places.
Our challenge, as family historians, is to not only discover the
ancestors' names and dates but to research and find the stories that
each one of them left behind. The stories may be in scrapbooks and
Family Bibles in our Grandmother's front room or in newspaper articles
that were published decades ago. Still other stories may be recorded in
history books or even heritage group publications....

Family lineage is one of the most interesting topics for anyone to
discuss because it is unique to each family. Finding everything from
royalty to heroes in family lineage is exciting. Having a personal
record of family lineage is a great treasure. Recently, the Latter-
day Saint church provided Larry King with a copy of his family
history during his evening TV show. King commented that although he
had received many gifts during his life, he would cherish the gift of
his family lineage above all the rest.
How do you find the origin and story of a family name as unique as
von Niederhausern der Hobo?ken Dans or as common as Jones? There are
three major sources for finding information about your family lineage
without the help of one of those little kiosks in the mall.
1) Family History Libraries
The easiest way to learn more about your family lineage is to
download all the information that has already been compiled. You can
do this with the Ancestral File database that is indexed at the
world's largest genealogy library, The Family History Center in Salt
Lake City, Utah. Downloading your family tree onto a GEDCOM file can
help you do research on the ancestors you are most interested in. In
order to find as much information on your lineage as possible in the
database, you'll need to gather information about your parents, your
grandparents, and your great-grandparents....

The first known birthday celebrations began among the Egyptians with
parades, circuses, and gladiatorial events - all complete with feasts
that sometimes lasted for days. Romans celebrated the birthdays of
their gods with parades and chariot races. Mortals were not
encouraged to celebrate their birthdays in Rome. Germany introduced
the tradition of birthday cakes about 200 years ago. The cake itself
was filled with gifts that predicted the recipient's life in the
upcoming year. For example, if the slice of cake contained a ring, it
symbolized impending marriage. A coin guaranteed riches throughout
the next year. If the cake fell while baking, it ensured impending
doom to the one celebrating a birthday. Today, various countries
celebrate birthdays in unique ways.
In the United States, the traditional birthday ritual calls for
giving gifts to the one celebrating his special day. Selecting
the "right" gift depends on the individual, his interests, and how
well you know him. Instead of purchasing the "same old" thing, add a
unique twist to your birthday gift selections this year and watch out
for the positive feedback! Below are several ideas that you may wish
to give thought to as you plan your next birthday gift list for every
child, teen, or adult in your life....

My dog Jasper is pretty special - no doubt you have heard that often
enough from other dog owners or even said it yourself. But Jasper is a
movie star...
Actually he is the star of a movie on my website but he thinks he is a
movie star and who am I to spoil it for him. The great thing is that
your dog can also be a movie star easily and with some great effects!
Let me tell you how you can turn your furry friend into a movie star
too. Just collect a few photos of your dog in various poses and
expressions. I am sure you have lots of them, I do! Especially those
ones when he/she was a puppy and did the silliest things that you just
had to capture on camera....
Now pick a few and add some transitions, highlights and movement then
record your story about your best friend in your own voice. Roll the
whole thing up into a movie and then you can show it to family and
friends and I bet they will react much more positively that they would
if you tried to show them a series of still photos on their own....

Beach and palm trees everywhere, with shiny happy people are having a
blast in the sun, and at night the smell of Island fresh fish cooking
on the large outdoor barbecues, under the stars.
Malaysia is running a campaign to get people to come and they should
as the place is absolutely what the doctor ordered if you look real
hard you can find a TV but the order of the day is books and naps.
Scuba diving is big here with Quiver Dive Team one of the busier
shops offering "DSD- discover scuba dives"; try dives and intro
dives, to people that have never dived before. Quite a few that
starts with the "DSD" continuing on and becoming PADI Open water
divers. The Perhentian islands are ideal for scuba diving courses
with small waves and lots of dive sites within view of the beach.
Doing a PADI Advanced Open Water is a good deal as well as they have
a couple of wrecks near by that are a lot of fun, like the Sugar
wreck which has many different types of schools of fish, from small
barracuda rainbow runners and damsels. Anemone fish which is the
family that Nemo comes from having allot of the damsel family tree on
display here. There are also great barracuda that can get to be up to
2 meters long. A few hardy few don't stop at the "AOW" but keep going
until they become dive-masters....
