This community is designed to publicise events and developments at the Great Central Railway (Nottingham), a ten mile Heritage Railway operating from Ruddington (Nottingham), through the picturesque South Nottinghamshire villages of East Leake and Stanford-on-Soar to the market town of Loughborough. With stunning views from the train across Gotham Moor and the Soar Valley, and a route including engineering features such as the large Soar Viaduct and Barnstone Tunnel, the railway offers a varied and interesting journey for young and old, railway enthusiasts and families alike. With the Transport Heritage Centre at Ruddington and adjacent Rushcliffe Country Park, there's always something to see and do.
