Thanks for the new club.<br><br>I thought that
the big Howard Rotovators were the end until I was
given a Gragam Paige B1-6rs last week. Complete with
all the manuals. Most parts for this machine can be
purchased from; <br>Frazer Farm Equipment<br>1919-23 Wayne
St.<br>PO Box 391 <br>Auburn IN.46706<br>219-925-2210 or
219-925-2211<br>They are very helpful and seem to have a good supply
of parts.

welderr, <br> Thanks for posting some pics! It
was getting kind of cob-webish in there! I'll have
some pics of mine soon. Do you mind if I use your
first pic as the Club pic? As we get more I'll change
them around. Thanks, Jason

Jc,<br> I have some old (mid 70's)Organic Gardening magazines that have ads for
new Merry Tillers. I could look some up if you describe yours and see if I can
find a pic for you. Let me know. Jason

Hello Rick,<br> That would be a great idea. I've
thought about that too, with my older Craftsman.
Companies like Northern Tool www.northern-online.com and
Harbor Freight www.harborfreight.com sell generators
without engines for just your kind of project. They may
have pressure washers without engines also, but I'm
not sure about those. Purests be darned!.....unless
you have an antique with a high collector value...I
say do it! I say use what you have no matter what the
"value". I hope this helps. Jason

Hi! I have an older troy-bilt with a 7 hp Briggs
and Straton industrial engine. Great tiller now that
I put heavy duty tines on it. Anyhow, I have been
pondering the posibility of adapting some sort of mount on
the thing for a pressure washer or generator. (It
seems a shame to have the motor sitting there doing
nothing when I'm not tilling!) Has anyone ever seen
something like this? I'm just looking for ideas. Will
gladly read any punishing criticism from the purests
also. Thanks.

Hi all. I have two old Merry Tillers that I am
looking for parts. I acquired these two tillers from my
parents. They were puchased in the 70's but that's all I
know about them. I would appreciate any information
anyone may have. <br> Thanks

Hi all! I finally repaired the broken handles on
my tiller, so I'll take a pic of it soon and put it
up as the club pic. It's not a beauty but it tills
like there's no tommorrow......and that's what counts!

Jack,<br> I saw a tiller at a lawn mower junkyard
today that had round tines also. These were about 5
inches long and about one inch thick tapering down to a
half inch at the point. This tiller had very little
left but the tranny and part of the frame....no
markings, numbers, or names, but it looked very old. I
thought about buying the tines off of it, but couldn't
think of a good use for them! If anyone buys the tiller
you have offered, let me know and I can pick them up
and send them out COD. <br>Jason

Last week I bought a used garden tractor
from<br>a place in Eliot Maine, called " Poor man's
antiques". <br>He had for sale a ROUND tine rototiller, that
said<br>"Trojan Model T" and "Made under licence with<br>Trojan
Development Corp". I couldn't tell the<br>engine make, but
the owner said it ran ok.<br>I think he was asking
$125, but I may be mistaken.<br><br>Just thought I'd
give you collectors a heads-up.<br><br>I have NO
affiliation with this guy except as a customer. If anyone
wants his phone number, send<br>me e-mail. I'm not sure
if it is proper to post<br>it publicly, so I
won't.<br><br>Jack

Clinton engine works still has a few parts. I was
up here last Thursday. They no longer build complete
engines. The Clinton engine went to Singapore in the early
60s. I talked with the head man he said to let him
know what you need and give a few days - he only has 1
man part time on engine parts. He said he will do his
best to help anyone who needs parts. CLINTON ENGINE
WORKS---BILL MAYBERRY---CLARK AND MAPLE ST----MAQUOKETA,
IOWA--52060. He did say they had quite a few different carbs
on hand. GOOD LUCK. Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the lead Len! Charles, it's a two-wheeler and it's missing the tine
cover and seems to be all original except for that. Know any good scrap yards?

Howdy.<br>Is it a 1 or 2 wheel tiller? The early
"Roto-Hoe" had 2 models, a 1 and a 2 wheeled model. I have
the 3 wheeled and know where there is a 1 wheeled for
sale that I would buy but it has a new engine put on
it and I'm not sure what the original is.
Thanks.<br>CW

Try John Smith at jks@.... He deals
in various small engine parts both NOS and repo
stuff. I bough Briggs stuff from him and he's pretty
responsive and I was satisfied with what I got. He
advertises Clinton stuff but I don't know what he has. Good
luck! ..... Len

Hi, I was wondering if you had any help or ideas
on where to begin getting a b1-6 back in working
order ,it is complete except for the sediment bowl I
broke trying to remove it. I have the service manuel on
the way and a parts book. I also have a sickle bar
that goes on it when you take the tines off . It goes
out front like a David Bradly. I want it to run ,but
I don't know where to start.

Thanks for the info. This one appears in really good shape but it's not
running. I found it at an estate sale for $10.00 and couldn't walk past it.

My dad bought a Simplicity Roticul back in the
early 60's. It's good tiller and easy to manuver in
tight spots. He used it to till a 30X90 garden until
the engine got tired in the late 70's. I rebuilt the
engine in the early 80's and we put it back in use. I
still have it and it needs some more engine work, but I
plan on fixing and using it some more.<br><br>I think
I was 4 or 5 years old when he bought it so that
puts it to be around 1964 or 65.

I have an extensive collection of tillers &
Gravelys. My first tiller was a little front tine Roto-Hoe
that I bought when I was about 10 yrs. My next tiller
was a B1-6 that I bought in 1972. I now have about 22
tillers of 6 different brands and about the same number
of Gravelys. You can reach me through my web site
link. Let's all do our part to preserve what we can of
these great little tractors...

I have a 1969(I think) Sears "Stick Shift" front
tine tiller. Don't let it being front tine fool you.
It has 3 bolo tines on each side and tills a 38 inch
swath!!! The transmission has 2 forward and one reverse
speed. It's a real monster, but not too hard to control.
I recently broke one of the handles(it was very
rusty), so when I get one made I'll post a pic of it. It
has many non-original parts, but it's not a
collectors item anyway. I have a friend that has a 50's
model Troy-Bilt that I'm trying to talk out of. It
needs much restoring but the original Clinton brand
engine runs great. Anybody know a good place to get
parts for the engine? Let me know! Thanks,
Jason(tiller_owner).

Greetings this club being formed is the deciding
factor to restore the tiller that came into my care last
month it is a Grahm-Paige made around 44-46 model B-1-6
, it has big plow handle looking handles , it is a
2 cycle recoil start and find of all finds I came
across a sickle bar for it the same week the tiller was
given to me. I have no experience with magnetos so this
will be a learnig exp. I talked to a guy who said he
saw 1 of these at the scrap yard last week but it was
gone now a good parts source shot to heck crushed
melted down. this is not a good way for these terrific
tillers to be treated. Don't let it happen if you see one
of these let me know. Thanks and like I said this
club is just in time. Mark

Howdy.<br>Well, Tillers aren't really my thing,
garden tractors are, but I still have a couple of them.
<br>I have a 1940's Roto-ette or Roto-Hoe which is just
an early Troy-built if you think about it. It is the
2 wheeled version with the little grill that covers
the belts behind the engine. Its rear tine. I also
have a David Bradley Roto-Spader but I don't have the
tiller attachment for it, just the mower deck so I guess
it wouldn't count.<br>I have a Simplicity model J,
which is their "in town" model walkbehind. It has the
tiller on it and I have a tiller for the bigger
simplicity/Wards walkbehinds too. Thanks for starting the
club.<br>CW

original manual. Any idea on age? 1960's maybe?
