[This session is no longer active.] You have found the group for the "Online Games for ESL/EFL" session, offered as part of TESOL's Electronic Village Online 2010. This session is a simulation -- Experience what your students will see and feel while playing multiplayer online games in order to acquire and strengthen emerging language skills. Designed to offer English Language Learners multiple pathways for interacting with language, the games you'll preview employ a variety of communicative approaches. Participants will gain a deeper understanding for how digital games support learning, focusing on qualities and standards which are especially pertinent to language acquisition. Lesson plan development and curriculum support will also be shared. We'll review how student achievement can be reported as part of an introduction to this newly developed set of open educational resources integrated into a self-contained game world.
