The year is 2379 (Terran calender): Three years ago, four wormholes appeared that would link two galaxies together. Their origin as well as the reason for their sudden appearance remains a mystery to this day, as do the strange connections between both galaxies. But those questions are of little concern to the expanding Galactic Empire, ever thirsty for more power.

The Federation, weakened by the Dominion War, was in no condition to fight the Empire. Negotiations soon led to the Federation joining the Empire, and spared it from a fight it could not win. Numerous independant worlds and small empires quickly followed suit, including the Cardassians.

Meanwhile, a large number of the Federation armed forces broke away to carry on the fight. The majority joined together to form the so-called Rogue Federation, and become allies with the Rebel Alliance, forming an united front against Imperial ambitions.

Provoked by the Romulan assassination of the Federation president, a war soon broke out, and left the Romulan Star Empire in ruins at its end. Imperial popularity and recruitment grew on Federation worlds, which increased even more during the Empire's campaign against the Borg.

Now, with the Borg nearly exterminated, and having handed the rebels two more major defeats, the Empire turns their attention to the Klingons. The Klingons has no intention to roll over before the Empire as the Romulans and others have done. But, still recovering from the Dominion War, are the Klingons up to the challenge?
