I have no solution for capturing video inside the dome, but I did get
to participate in a great solution for hi-quality still photography.
I was recently featured in "Albuquerque the Magazine" and they sent a
professional photographer to take some pictures of me inside the
planetarium, with fractals on the dome behind me.
The procedure she used was to use a strobe flash on me, in the
foreground, while using a long exposure to capture the background
imagery on the dome. With the immediate feedback of digital
photography, she quickly figured out the right parameters, and came
out with some really great pictures. We played with both static and
dynamic content on the dome during the photoshoot, and some of the
images with the fractals zooming behind me were downright psychedelic.
Much better than anything that could have been photoshopped together.
The two pictures they published really made the magazine article a
success.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
