Hi -
I need a few volunteers to keep up with the good work started by Tyler Fass and
his Scout troop. Last week they spent over 100 hours removing invasive plants
and planting natives along Starkweather Dr. between Richard St. and the railroad
track. The priority right now is to keep the new plants watered. Tyler and his
mom have volunteered to water and mulch the remaining plants until 7/16.
There are a couple of buckets down there but I was wondering about using the
fire hydrant. Does anybody know how I would go about checking that out? Also,
someone mentioned getting a gas-generated pump from Commonwealth - does anybody
know about that? Otherwise the buckets take a long time.
I'm also hoping that this group will agree to continue to work on keeping weeds
from the new beds and other things, but for right now what matters is watering.
Call or email me, 242-8363, ellier53@...
