This group is setup to support Joe and Alison Elder, the owners of Skipjack Nautical Wares Marine Gallery. Joe and Alison lost their home and gallery during a tragic fire at Zion Baptist Church which neighbored their shop and apartment on High St in Olde Towne Portsmouth. While they escaped with their own lives and those of their pets and visiting family, most of their personal belongings and store inventory were lost.
This group and the site www.friendsofskipjack.com are available for all of their friends to share memories, make donations, and coordinate efforts to assist them in rebuilding all they have lost.
As business members and friends of the community, they always helped everyone in need. They never said no.
Today, they need our help.
