Our Mission is to:

1. foster awareness, appreciation, and community involvement in protection of Ruffin Canyon's unique habitats,
2. inform the public about the various threats to natural habitats, endangered species and wildlife living there, and
3. provide for recreational access and nature-educational opportunities, where appropriate, that respect native habitats and wildlife values.
   

Ruffin Canyon is a tributary of the San Diego River, and part of Canyonlands Park.Click for Map.

Wednesdays 3:15pm-4:15pm, Ruffin Canyon Club at Taft MS

1st Saturday Canyon Care 9am-noon
Odd months meet at the Native Habitat Garden just east of Taft:11/5, 1/7, etc.; even months at the west end of Shawn Av: 12/3, 2/4, etc. Wear closed shoes hat. We provide snacks and drinks. Community Service hrs verified.

4th Monday Meetings 6:30pm
10/24, 11/28, etc., at Taft Library, or at 3132 Pasternack Pl. on school holidays.

Sun. Oct.9th 9am-Noon
Remove mulch (help yourself) from site of future campus garden so heavy equipment can remove existing structures before construction begins.
