Welcome to the online spot for the teens and kids (and adults who are teens at heart) of Friends - the National Association of Young People Who Stutter.
FRIENDS is a place for stutterers, young and old, and their families, to gather once a year. It's a place to meet others who stutter, feel safe and comfortable with your stuttering, and gain confidence in yourself. At FRIENDS, you can learn about your stuttering, and how you can help yourself or a family member/friend who stutters.
The purpose of this group is to provide not only a place for the teens of FRIENDS to keep in touch, but also a place to discuss feelings on stuttering, share ideas for future FRIENDS conventions, and provide emotional support for teen stutterers and their siblings and friends.
Please feel free to post messages on the message board, post photos from the convention, make polls for people to take, and chat in the group chat room. Share your thoughts, ideas, and opinions with the rest of the teen stuttering world! Just remember one rule: make sure it stays relevant to FRIENDS or stuttering!
This community does not have open membership, you have to "apply" in order to be a member! All you have to do is tell us why you want to be a part of the group - whether you're a stutterer, a friend or a family member of someone who stutters, or someone who wants to learn more about stuttering. Just make sure you mention stuttering or the Friends Convention, or else your membership won't be approved!
And of course, enjoy yourself here at the Friends Online Teen Center!
