The main points: FREECYCLE GUIDELINES JUNE 2009 -

1) KEEP IT FREE, LEGAL & APPROPRIATE FOR ALL AGES. This means, for example, no Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms or Drugs, legal or otherwise. This is our main Freecycle rule to live by and it's a pretty easy one at that.

2) NO POLITICS, NO RELIGION, NO SPAM, NO ADS, NO PERSONAL ATTACKS/RUDENESS. Repeat offenders will lose posting privileges.

3) SUBJECT LINES ARE MANDATORY:
OFFER: old couch, TAKEN: old couch, WANTED: dresser, RECEIVED: dresser. WANTEDS limited to 5 per month or same one repeated only every 7 days.

4) CAN WE USE FREECYCLE TO FIND NEW HOMES FOR PETS? Yes, you may OFFER as long as it's legal, & be lovingly careful. Note that posts about pets for breeding purposes are not allowed.

5) NO TRADING PLEASE. Do not ask to borrow.
6) RESPOND DIRECTLY TO OFFERER.
7) PICK UP. At the member's choice.

8) SAFETY. It is up to each individual member of Freecycle when arranging for pickup of the item being given away to be appropriately aware of the potential risk of having "a stranger" come to your home to pick something up.
