WHERE: State House cafeteria in the basement of the State House,

afternoon. We’ll be meeting in the cafeteria in the State House

how to effectively work the system yourself.

130+ Reasons to Move to Keene, NH
Since Free State Project movers to New Hampshire are free to live
anywhere in the state, some friendly competition has arisen amongst
various cities and regions in NH. Recently, activists in Keene, NH have
compiled a list of over 130 reasons
<http://freekeene.com/reasons-to-move-to-keene/> to move to their city.

Merchandise
Since he's not around to argue the point, I'll say Christopher Gadsden
would approve of the newly re-stocked Free State Project "Don't Tread on
Me" t-shirt. Even if he were to argue the point, I'd just call it a
Hopkins flag; that would really tick him off :) The shirt: it's an
awesome Gadsden, sorry Esek, flag-inspired look. Instead of that Oh, so
scary rattlesnake, there's an FSP Porcupine. It's cute. It's cuddly
looking. But you don't want to mess with one. There were some
discussions about updating the text as well as the graphic, but when
"Don't Walk on Me", "Don't Crush Me", "Don't Quick-step on Me", "You
Bad, Away Go Now", "Don't Repress, Tax, Regulate, Interfere, Nag,
Coddle, nor Condescend Towards Me", and of course, the modern
translation: "Don't F*** With Me" were all voted down, it seemed best to
keep the original "Don't Tread on me" line of text. Available now in
different sizes. Order yours today, sport it at PorcFest tomorrow (or in
June, whatever). This shirt looks great getting photographed at your
favorite rally/protest/storming the Bastille event. Show the world your
(and you're) FSP!

We also have the popular Puzzle Key Chains back in stock. New Hampshire
quarter (er, rather, Treasury token coin), curious puzzle, great
message, what's not to love? And they'll even hold your keys together.

The Free State Project (FSP) is an effort to recruit 20,000 pro-liberty
activists to move to New Hampshire, where they will exert the fullest
practical effort toward the creation of a society in which the maximum
role of government is the protection of life, liberty and property. The
work of creating and sustaining such a society in New Hampshire is the
job of residents, including project participants, not the Free State
Project itself.

The FSP does not endorse any specific changes to government or
strategies to achieve them. The FSP does not take positions on issues,
candidates, legislation, places to move within New Hampshire, tactics or
methods of action. The one stipulation the FSP does make is that people
who promote violence, racial hatred, or bigotry are not welcome.

Reporting by the FSP on participant activity or NH events on the
website, in the newsletter, or in any other place does not represent
support or endorsement and may not portray the diversity of opinions and
activities that exists among participants.

The crisis in our country is accelerating in both severity and in public
recognition. California Governor Schwartzenegger has now submitted a budget
to the California legislature that largely *ends* state welfare. He compares
California to fiscally collapsing Greece, Ireland, and Spain (and California
has an economy as large or larger than any of the three). But the Democrats
control both houses of the state legislature, and so.... "Absolutely
unacceptable!" thunders the president of the California state senate,
Darrell Steinberg. So the dance of death will
continue<http://news.scotsman.com/world/Arnold-Schwarzenegger-calls-for-state.62\
97688.jp>
.

In the meantime, Professor Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit.com highlights an
article named "Let It
Burn"<http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/05/let_it_burn.html>
published
at American Thinker <http://www.americanthinker.com/>, Written by an
individual under the pen-name "Demosthenes," the article openly states that
"America is lost," and that "social, political, and economic strife of a
sort unimaginable" is now on the horizon. "These sorts of sentiments are
becoming rather more widespread and openly stated" says an email sent to
Prof. Reynolds.

Tony Blankley weights in at Real Clear
Politics<http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2010/05/13/why_americans_are_\
shocked__appalled.html>,
saying "we are in crisis---and we cannot wait until 2013 to stop the madness
and start the rollback." Calling Obama's 10-year budget plan "the most
irresponsible federal document ever released," Blankley writes that "Our job
is to describe as vividly and credibly as we can just how bad 'bad' will be
if we don't drop almost everything and start cutting entitlements and
everything else" this coming January. If such radical steps aren't taken, we
are quite literally facing "the "financial ruin of the nation," he says.

How bad can "bad" be? How "unimaginable" can "social, political, and
economic strife" become if the power-mad socialists around Obama are not
stopped from destroying America? How about the breakdown of the national
power grid? How about large-scale interruption of food distribution? How
about the collapse of the health care system? In the case of any one of
those, we can expect, at the minimum, hundreds of thousands of people dying
from strife, disease, and malnutrition....and the numbers might easily go
higher.

Impossible, you say.

Perhaps. But if you hold the values that America was founded
upon---"liberty, individual achievement, limited government, and the
equality of opportunity" according to "Demosthenes"---you may want to start
considering moving to New Hampshire. It will be one of the few bastions of
sanity in the widening gyre of America, where the center will not
hold, and anarchy
is loosed upon the land <http://www.online-literature.com/donne/780/>. Why
will New Hampshire be an outpost of sanity in a nation driven off a cliff by
an unleashed political class? Because we hold to the old ways. We still
believe in individualism, capitalism, freedom, and a federal government
restricted by a Constitution that says what it means and means what it says.
If you hold those values, come join us. The Free State
Project<http://www.freestateproject.org/>beckons.

Hi folks,

If any Porcupine is going to the LP national convention this weekend and cannot
be seated as a delegate from their home state, the LPNH does have a couple
openings and will be giving preference to FSP members (since we know you'll be
moving to NH). Our main requirement is that you join the LPNH (we allow out of
state members).

If you can let me know ahead of time that would be preferable.

Thanks,
Rich

Everyone: Some weeks ago I sent out an entreaty for some donations so I
could have some more bumper stickers printed up for the upcoming Porcupine
Freedom Festival (to be held late this month in Lancaster in the Free State
of New Hampshire).

Bumper sticker? Yeah, this one: [image: LIVEfreeORdieFSPyellow.gif]

I generally give these bumper stickers away for free, or only charge a buck
apiece. They are *designed* for people who live outside of New Hampshire.
And they are designed to drive people to the Free State Project web
site<http://www.freestateproject.org>,
especially those who have never heard of the FSP in the past. Thus, the
PorcFest is the perfect venue to be distributing these great little pieces
of advertising, since people converge on the gathering from all over the
country ("You promise you'll put one on each of your cars' bumpers in
Texas?" "Yes." "Okay, here, take three for free.")

So what response did I get? One person sent me $50 via my PayPal account
(bless you!). The cost of getting the bumper stickers printed up is $1 each.
The PorcFest already has almost 500 people officially signed up, and all the
cabins and motel rooms are already reserved (and that's ONLY for
Freestaters; We have the entire Rogers Campground entirely to ourselves this
year). That means that this is going to be the biggest PorcFest yet, with
possibly a thousand liberty-lovers there from all over the world. So I want
to get at least 300 to 500 of the bumper stickers to hand out. They'll
result in advertising all over the country.

So how about sending some money so I can do it? It's easy to do with PayPal.
Just go
here<https://personal.paypal.com/cgi-bin/marketingweb?cmd=_render-content&conten\
t_ID=marketing_us/send_money>,
and use my email address of tim@....

It pays to advertise! Especially for the PorFest and the Free State
Project!

New Hampshire's the front line of state's rights and pushing back against
the socialist agenda of Obama, Bill. When the rest of the country goes down
the toilet (as intended by the socialists now running the country), New
Hampshire will still be free and will be resisting and serving as a beacon
of liberty for the rest of the country. It's the choice of the Free State
Project <http://www.freestateproject.org>, and the Free State Project is
important to the entire country. ---Tim

We announced the voted-upon choice of the Free State at a press conference
in New York City on October 1, 2003. The first PorcFest (named by me as The
First Annual Porcupine Freedom Festival and Night on the Barricades) was
held in June 2004. Look at the traffic on the list up to that time. Since
then the traffic on this list has dwindled, and essentially been killed off.
This list *should* be a vibrant, active, argumentative, ongoing festival of
debate and discussion about "all things New Hampshire and Free State." Why
are debates and discussions on this list being discouraged and/or
suppressed? ---Tim Condon

Not a rumor: Information stated by Rogers Campground representatives is not
"rumor." Advance ticket sales aren't reflective of who's going to show up
(libertarians and other freedom-lovers don't tend to "get in line," for one
thing). From the Rogers Campground representative I talked to several days
after sending out the email below: All motel rooms sold out. All cabins sold
out. All campsites sold out. All hotel and motel rooms in Lancaster sold out
(there's also a motorcycle rally in town that weekend), and only a few RV
sites left. In addition, several days after the email below, I was told by
the campground representative that the numbers are rising, and they expect
1,400 to be there, not a mere 1,000.

"Advance ticket sales aren't reflective of who's going to show up (libertarians

Considering ONLY 12 people registered at the event last year, I'd say YES,
advanced ticket sales are a great way to judge attendance for this event.

"All hotel and motel rooms in Lancaster sold out"

Not true. I JUST called the Cabot Motor Inn and Restaurant (the closest hotel to
Rogers) and they have vacancies for the weekend of PorcFest.

And approximately half the RV spots are left.

Furthermore, I've been in constant contact with Roger's and they admit the
estimate was based on something I said.

If anyone is working with the most relevant information, it is myself. I
estimate 700 show up. You estimate 1400. Would you like to put money on this?

Fewer people use yahoo groups today, then previously. Take into account the
incredible PorcFest traffic on that website with half a billion users....

Debates and discussion on this list are not being discouraged or suppressed,
Tim. ANY debate or discussion that pertains to the business of the FSP is
encouraged here. "All things Free State", yes, but "all things New Hampshire"
not necessarily pertinent.

Traffic here was particularly high then because that was a huge decision and
event in the FSP. Obviously it's going to be less active in less momentous
moments. Right now, the biggest FSP item is the upcoming PorcFest, and of
course anything related to that has been approved and welcomed. Anything
relating to anything else FSP will be approved and welcomed.

Fundraising efforts for mainstream Republicans, though Tim, are not that.

Reminder that we're not having a official Concord Porc meeting in
June, because the weather is so nice, you should be out and about and
enjoying it, and with PorcFest around the corner in under 2 weeks, I
hope to see many of you there.

We're likely to resume next month in July, either with the (twice
cancelled) picnic finally if the weather hold out, or if not,
hopefully at a new location, TBD.

Ideas for a new meeting location are welcome... Amanda and I have
discussed potential spots including another buffet in Concord, and a
bar/grill also in Concord. We're moving due to both size of the
meetings having grown as well as poor customer service at the previous
location (and some folks weren't 100% happy with the food.)

For those who depend on this for their social life (grin), I'm going
to be checking out the new buffet tomorrow at noon, and anyone who
wishes to join me is welcome, as an informal Porc lunch (because lord
knows, our usual meetings are so formal), to check it out...
It's in the Fort Eddy shopping plaza with Market Basket and Lowes.

That's fine, then. If the FSP email list is opened up to vigorous and
ongoing debate, then it won't offend any great number of people. I don't
believe it's become moribund because people don't enjoy email lists, I think
the problem is restrictive moderating. Fortunately, there's an easy way to
test that hypothesis..... ---Tim Condon

Phil says: "All things Free State", yes, but "all things New Hampshire" not
necessarily pertinent.

And therein lies the problem. *Everything* that's going on in the Free State
of New Hampshire is pertinent to people who are following the Free State
Project and considering becoming participants. If there's "too much
discussion" about New Hampshire on the list, then those who are offended can
easily unsubscribe. Voila. Solution. It certainly beats a list with traffic
of 6 or 8 emails per *month.*
*
*
*As for "fundraising efforts for mainstream Republicans," how about
mainstream Republicans who happen to be Freestaters? How about mainstream
Democrats who are Freestaters? How about candidates from both parties who
support the aims of the Free State Project as delineated on the home page of
the FSP web site? Do you not think that people who have not yet moved to New
Hampshire have an interest in what's happening politically in the Free
State, who's running, what they stand for, and therefore which direction the
Free State is moving in with reference to the clearly stated aims of the
Free State Project? *
*
*
*Grrrrr. Hellooooo. In my experience, most Freestaters in all their
iterations are not much in favor of their words being "approved" or not when
talking and debating politics in the Free State. ---Tim Condon*

I report what I was told by the Rogers Campground representatives. I note
that you don't mention below that *all* the campsites are sold out, *all* the
cabins are rented, *all* the trailers have been rented, and I've been told
by friends in the Free State who want to attend that they're "on a waiting
list" to get a place to stay at the campground. The hotel across the street
has some vacancies? Great! Glad to hear it. I was told by the Rogers
representative that all the hotels in Lancaster were filled (especially with
the motorcycle rally taking place on the same weekend in town), and that
they were actively talking to a hotel in the next town over that did have
vacancies, so that the Rogers people could direct PorcFest people to that
hotel if they needed to.

You want to talk the PorcFest down, go to it, Curtis! I predict over a
thousand people, based upon what I have been repeatedly told by the Rogers
representatives. Maybe they're lying. You tell me. I could be wrong. ---Tim

As Curtis said, not everyone uses Yahoo groups anymore. We have some groups on
Google, and the main place for discussion is the FSP's own forum:
http://forum.freestateproject.org
Even that forum is underutilized, in my opinion because it is not integrated
with the FSP's member database. We hope to address that soon.

We've been over this plenty of times before, Tim.

Here is the quote directly from the front page of the FSP website:
=====
What the Free State Project is not... We are not a political action
organization. We are not tied to any political party or organization; we do not
run candidates for election, we do not financially support or endorse
candidates, and we do not oppose or endorse legislation. All these things will
be done by local activist organizations with which many Free Staters are
involved.
=====
The mission of the FSP is to gather the people and get them there. Period.
This list is for the dissemination of information pertinent to THAT mission.
Period.

---Tim

LOL. Only if you agree to stop talking down the PorcFest. I'll wager you one
of my Live Free or Die bumper stickers against your negativity. If you win,
you get to bad-mouth the PorcFest all you want for the next year. If I win,
you've got to put the pro-FSP bumper sticker on your car (but only for one

LOL, Tim, I guess you aren't too aware of my efforts of the last 300 days.

Only someone unaware of my efforts could accuse me of "talking down the
PorcFest", or think I would want to "bad-mouth the PorcFest"

Tell ya what, tune in to Free Talk Live tonight, and see just how negative I am.

But come on, if you're so sure of yourself, lets make this really interesting.

I have one Ounce of Silver, a NorFed Ron Paul. I'll wager that against any
generic 1 toz silver round, the over/under being 1000 attendees.
(I said 700, you said 1400, that gives you a slight advantage, if you're really
so sure of yourself)

(Really, thats a REALLY crappy wager you offer, you must think very little of
me, and/or your chances)

Ask around, I dont think you REALLY want to accept this wager, as I told you
before, I'm QUITE convinced I'm working with the most complete information.
While you've basically admitted your estimation is based on the twisting of
something I MYSELF SAID.

All right, Curtis. I've been told you're a super-PorcFest guy (and don't
think I don't apprecaite it!). And I'm working on what I've been told by the
Rogers Campground people, so I could be getting bad information.
*However, *with
all that said, if you want to bet, I'll bet. I've got an ounce of silver to
match yours (I think it's a Free State Project ounce, if I remember
correctly). So let's get the terms of the bet clear: If 750 people come to
the PorcFest, I win, right? ;--) Or...do more than 1,000 have to come in
order to me to win? And how do we count? What about all those great
anarchists who are going to crash the party and don't need no steenkin'
papers? How do we count *them?* You tell me. I'm reasonable, and I think
this is going to be a Breakthrough PorcFest, no matter how few people you've
convinced to get their steenkin' papers (heh :--)). I'm willing to bet a
silver ounce on what the Rogers people have imparted to me.

In the meantime, YA'LL COME out there, so I can beat Curtis's boastful
wager!!! BREAKTHROUGH PORCFEST THIS YEAR!!! ---Tim Condon
