I walk on the beach and my footprints leave their mark on that virginal surface -- not forever, only until the next wave comes. Our world behaves similarly: living beings affect it, and like waves the cyclical ages, destroy, rebuild and preserve all that is. One person can change the world, albeit for a certain duration. History is full of examples of men and women who have single-handedly made desirable changes for periods of time. Like footprints in the sand, each one of us can too.
