Description

Welcome to the Freedom of Mind discussion list. This site was developed in cooperation with Steve Hassan's freedom of mind website located at http://www.freedomofmind.com.

This discussion list will allow the free exchange of ideas, insights, and experiences around cults, mind control, undue influence by groups and individuals, cult recovery, and related issues. This is a discussion group for all persons -- academics, professionals, exmembers, or anyone affected by cults or cult-like thinking/practices.

This discussion list is for all interested in this topic. Learn and discuss the tactics used by destructive groups or individuals, how to help family members and loved ones, share educational material, provide research and scholarly discussion about the cult phenomena, and learn to protect yourself and others.

Open communication is encouraged, and we welcome contributions from everyone interested in this topic -- on all sides of the debate.

This group does not provide therapy or counseling, and no professional advice should be presumed. Profanity, racist, xenophobic, or sexist language is against list policies. Members should not contact each other privately unless permission is first obtained on the list. Proselytzing is also against the rules. Please be respectful of the beliefs of others.

All new members are subject to approval of their posts by the moderator.

The moderator reserves the right to unsubscribe anyone who does not follow the rules of the group, or becomes disruptive. The moderator has final determination of appropriate behavior on the list.
