The freedive-list (a.k.a. “the FDL”) is an international mail-list forum, originally founded in 1995, for the exchange of information and ideas among people interested in breath-hold freediving. The list is open to anyone with an interest in breath-hold diving and related activities including spearfishing (the most popular activity), photography, underwater videography, sightseeing, etc.

COMMERICAL ADVERTISING is not allowed on FDL. Free advertising using FDL is considered an opportunistic attempt to reach as many people as possible with no cost and minimum effort on the part of the advertiser. It also threatens the peaceful coexistence of the many FDL members who are competitors in the marketplace. And there's also concerns over member privacy and the temptations to violate that privacy.

Posting a private party ad selling used equipment (or new product you just bought but can't use), belonging to you or a friend, are acceptable on FDL. But please consider that “a private party ad” is closer to 1 posting than 1 posting with many follow-ups.
