Changing the world one gift at a time!
Our mission is to encourage members to pass along still-usable, tangible items rather than throw those items away. We work to alleviate pressure on our nation's landfills, cut back on wasteful consumerism and promote stewardship of our planet. Please note, anyone who requests membership will receive a brief questionnaire, look for it in your inbox (or junk mail folder) and return within 2 days.
Items must be FREE, Legal, and Appropriate for all ages -- no adult only; no alcohol; no tobacco or tobacco related products; no drugs of any kind; no prescription only items; no firearms or other weapons. Items must be tangible. Requests for computers will not be allowed. Offers of, or requests for, services, advice, tickets, gift cards, box tops, soup labels or coupons and coupon books aren't appropriate for the list. Guidelines will be emailed to new members.
If you are outside of Portland, please join and support your local Freecycle group. All Freecycle groups, worldwide, can be found at Freecycle.org. When we think locally, we build giving-communities *and* we save gasoline and our environment. Your non-local membership may be removed or denied at the discretion of the moderating team.
We want to give a big shout out to our founder, Albert Kaufman, for his work in the past.
Your Moderators are Beverly, Janet and Monica. We're here to help you.
