Northampton, Massachusetts Area Freecycle, where you can connect with members who are getting rid of unwanted items that you may need, or who want items you have to give away. Everything must be 100% free.

ATTENTION: This is the real Northampton Freecycle group, founded in 2004 and maintained by local volunteers. This freecycle group in no longer affiliated with The Freecycle Network (TFN), an Arizona Corporation, which has mounted a campaign to take over or replace local freecycle groups for their own profiteering purposes.

You must read the complete group rules and etiquette (e-mailed when you join and in the files area) before posting a message!  Failure to abide by the rules may result in your removal from the group. All posts must be recycling related. Requests to borrow items, or for information or assistance, are not permitted

There are around 25-35 messages sent out each day, or you can receive digests which are a compilation of up to 25 messages.

To make the list user friendly, when posting, you must use one of these terms to begin the subject of every message: "OFFERED in [town]", "TAKEN", "WANTED", or "RECEIVED", and indicate what the item is, as in "Offered in Florence: Old Bathtub". For "Offered" posts, always include the town in the subject. Towns must be within ten miles of Northampton.

DO NOT include an address in posted messages to the group! Contact information must be exchanged later in a personal e-mail. Violators will lose the ability to post messages! Do not send multiple individual "Wanted" or "Offered" messages at a time-- please combine into one messag
