freecycle: to recycle by giving an item away for free rather than sending it to the dump
This is a place where freecycling friends can discuss freecycling -- freecycle groups, freecycling practices, how to keep freecycling truly free, defending free(cycling) speech, resources for independent freecycle groups, requests for advice, news and discussion that impacts the freecycling world, etc. No secrets, just open communication.
Many of the founders of the freecycling movement are members, regularly sharing their experiences and insights. All are welcome to join in discussions, or to simply lurk -- our archives are open to the public.
IMPORTANT: Intelligent, thoughtful, and positive discussion is encouraged.
All new members are moderated at first. While we strive to allow free speech, the moderators will use their best judgement to prune conversations to keep this communication garden healthy. And, hey, the moderators are only human. WARNING FOR NEW MEMBERS: If you are a current moderator of a TFN group be careful, a number of moderators got kicked out of TFN just because they posted to this group. Also you have a choice, you can stick with TFN or you can become an independent freecycling group.
