Welcome to FREECYCLE-TM Knoxville. This is an elite group whose members have dedicated themselves to saving our planet and landfills one gift at a time. Although you receive items for free it is about saving the landfill and not as a way to take the place of Walmart. Those who offer items are encouraged to give to the person who they feel can do the most good with their items, whether it is a creative way to make it new again, or maybe they had this item as a child and it has sentimental value. Please do not post your life story and how bad things are for you, this is about saving the planet and the landfill. Knoxville has many resources to help those in need. Membership is limited to those in and around Knoxville, TN as we feel the need to take care of our own. If you are not in this area, please go to www.freecycle.org and search for a group in your hometown. You will also find the history of this nationwide movement as well as other useful information. If there is not a group in your area, please feel free to start one, the instructions are also listed at www.freecycle.org.
