The worldwide Freecycle(TM) Network is made up of many individual groups across the globe. It's a grassroots movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. Each local group is run by a local volunteer moderator (them's good people). Membership is free.
The Freecycle(TM) Network is a nonprofit organization whose mission includes reducing waste, generating employment training, and fostering cooperation between other nonprofit organizations and the public.
One rule: everything posted must be free. Whether it's a chair, a fax machine, piano, or an old door to be given away, it can be posted on the network. Or, maybe you're looking to acquire something yourself? Respond to the posting directly and you just might get it. After that it is up to the giver to set up a pickup time for passing on the treasure.
We encourage Non-profits to list their needed items here as a way to allow the community at large to respond to the needs of our valuable non-profit organizations.
Offers and requests for animals will be looked after by a pet resource person who has information on the rescue centers and others who may have pets available and the groups which may have persons interested in owning or fostering pets.
We are glad to have you here to join our group! Congratulations on becoming one of the more than 10,000 Canada wide Freecycle(TM) members around the world! Please check out www.freecycle.org to see the worldwide Freecycle(TM) site!
