Simplicity is the key to Freecycle. Donors list unwanted items which can be claimed by any other group participant, free of charge.

To start sending messages, join the group by clicking on "Join This Group!" at the top of the page or send an e-mail to Freecycle_Charlottesville-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.

1) Keep it FREE, LEGAL & APPROPRIATE for all ages.

2) NO POLITICS - NO SPAM - NO MONEY. Two strikes & you're out. Perhaps only one.

3) Subject line: Please begin with one of these words:
OFFER: old couch
TAKEN: old couch [So that others know the item is no longer available; TAKEN PPU = Taken pending pick-up]
WANTED: old couch [Please use this one sparingly - not more than once a week except in cases of sudden need]
RECEIVED: old couch or THANKS: old couch [This old couch is just what I needed, thank you!]
ADMIN: new idea or suggestion

Suggestions:

Description: Describe the item with as many details as you need in the body of the message.

Your approximate location: Try to describe this in the body of your message: "Pick up downtown near Jefferson and 11th Streets."

4) No trading or bartering please.

5) Please, no selling of items obtained from Freecycle, unless the offerer is OK with it.

6) Responses should go only to the OFFERER.

7) Pick Up: Arrange as you like; 1st response, nearest respondent, best story, offers posted are some ways of choosing recipients.

8) Digital picture? Post it in the "Photos" section.
