The Silver Spring, MD Freecycle(TM) Group Welcomes You!

We serve an environmentally aware and responsive community. Our goal is find new homes for good, usable items, rather than throwing them away. In the process, we will reduce waste, save precious resources, ease the burden on landfills, and connect with like-minded folks.

Freecycle-SilverSpringMD serves Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Wheaton, Kensington and several other communities in Montgomery County, Maryland. We do not serve other Maryland counties or the District of Columbia.

When you apply, please include town name or section of Silver Spring, zip code, and the names of the closest MAJOR cross streets. We will not process your application without it. If you include this information in your application, we can approve your membership more quickly.

The Basic Rules: Keep it FREE, LEGAL, and APPROPRIATE for all ages.

When you post, use the format below. To be approved, messages MUST have properly formatted subjects. Please include your approximate location in ALL posts.

* OFFER: old couch (20910) (when you are giving something away)
* TAKEN: old couch (20910) (when the item is claimed or picked up)
* WANTED: small mirror (20901) (when you hope someone will give you something)
* RECEIVED: small mirror (20901) (once you have received the items you have requested or are looking for)

All members are moderated until we are sure you understand the guidelines, and are not a spammer! This is usually after 2-4 posts.
