Kids getting published   Message List
Reply Message #3 of 3 | Next >
It's been so long since I have posted a tip on this list, I hope you
remember signing up for it. If not, or if you aren't interested, feel
free to unsubscribe, and my apology for my long absence.

Speaking from personal experience, there is nothing like seeing your
byline in print to encourage a writer of any age. I'm writing today
about venues for kids to get published. Here are a few ideas:

1. Your local newspaper: many have kids' sections in which kids are
encouraged to submit their writing
2. Newsletters for any clubs your child or your family may belong to.
Newsletter editors in general love submissions that are on topic to
the mission of the publication.
3. The librarian in the children's section may be able to guide you
to publications that specifically encourage children's submissions.
4. Teens may want to peruse "Writers Market."

I'd love to hear any feedback you may have, which I will condense and
include in the next Tipletter.

Happy trails,
Judith
