Phyllis, thanks so much for sharing your travel nurse experiences. I have
friends who did travel nursing and understand that their nursing agency paid
their living expenses if they were a specified distance from their original home
(I think it was 150 miles or more, or something along that line). In fact, one
friend ended up staying for years in one place that was about that distance
away. There are agencies that specialize in medical staffing, including
short-term and long-term assignments. People with higher-level specializations
(neo-natal, anesthesia, surgical, etc.) are highly paid. Or at least they were a
few years ago.
