Hello

Finally, cases for PM3A 500MHZ RF Power Meter are available. Cases are
supplied free of charge but to cover the increased weight of the kit
due to metal cases, $3 is added to the price. I regret for this but it
was unavoidable.

Hello All,

I have tried several times to use more than one myalias, but it´s not working.
I have understand that the foxdigi is just working for one MYALIAS. So it is a great digipeater if you want to use it as a fill in digipeater.

For a complete digipeater use uidigi, digined etc.

Best regards,
Robert, sm4wwo

From an earlier post..... and no answers..... November 2008

I have built two of these over the past 2 evenings, and I have a problem.

1. Trace rcv never displays the debug output on either unit.
2. The receive led lights when receiving a signal on both units.
3. Neither unit has ever displayed any received signals

I could understand I may have made an error building one unit, but
both display the same problem.
________________________________________________________________

Does anyone actually read or answers questions on here?

I revisisted these boards.
I have reflowed all the connections.
I have traced all the paths, checked all components.
And still nothing. They both tx just fine, they both program just fine,
the rx led comes on when hearing traffic, but still never
any rx trace debug output into a terminal program.

Is it possible these were shipped with pure tracker firmware?

Hello Phillip, Group,

I think we are misunderstanding each other, or maybe I have misunderstod the purpose with a fill in digi :-)

As I understand the foxdigi is not supporting the new WIDEn-N recommendations.
A "full" digi will relay both WIDE1-1 and WIDE2-2 and so on.

The FoxDigi is configured WIDE2-2
If a mobile station send WIDE1-1,WIDE2-2
The digi will not relay because it doesn´t recognize the WIDE1-1.

Also, it will not relay when the packet is already relayed by two other digipeaters.
Example: SM4WWO-9>DIGI1*,DIGI2*,WIDE2-1 (it won´t recognize the WIDE2-1)

The FoxDigi is configured WIDE1-1 (fill in digi)
If a mobile station send WIDE1-1,WIDE2-2 it will relay the WIDE1-1 (works correct)
If a home station send WIDE2-2 or WIDE2-1
The digi will not relay because it doesn´t recognize the WIDE2-2 or WIDE2-1.

Of course you could configure MYALIAS: WIDE but then it will relay very high paths. This is not good as we are trying to eliminate higher paths.

We are now using our foxdigi as a fill in digi, and it works very fine for us. But when I posted my first question to the list we planned to use it as a "full" digi.

Hello

This is due to two models of foxdigi.
The previous model do not require a null modem because it was supplied with a
d9f connector for pc/gps.

the new foxdigi, is made like a tracker & has all the connections & connectors,
same as a tracker. Means, for config, we require a null modem.

I will try to correct doc if it has this error for new version.

Hello again
well, you can ignore the previous posts. I now have been able to program all
commands. The problem with the previous attempts was that the syntax was
incorrect. In particular, it looks like the UNPROTO structure is severely
truncated such that it will only accept about 6 characters. This means that as a
Digipeater, the unit is useless.

Any digipeater nowdays needs to be able to control the re-broadcasts. This means
that when WIDE is used, the number of times it can be reused needs to be sharply
limited. As well, due to the multiplication of Digipeaters (an otherwise
desirable thing since it increases the ability to get a packet through) it is
much more likely that more than one digipeater is within range. In order to
select just which Digi is going to respond, the digi needs to be able to respond
to selective aliases. In this MYALIAS only accepts a callsign. It needs a path
restrictor.

Well, I will put this down to experience. At least I will be able to use it as a
tracker.

regards
Graeme

Hello all
I am concerned about the sound the Foxdigi makes when it beacons. I am in a
position to identify several trackers and stations locally and know exactly what
each sounds like. The Foxdigi sounds completely different. I suspect it is
distorting the transmission which of course would render it unusable by any
station receiving it. Has anyone got one of these things to work, either as a
tracker or a digi? Needless to say, the local digipeater does not respond to my
Foxdigi (it has no problems with the Opentrackers I also use).

Unfortunately, I do not possess a CRO to check my hypothesis which would be the
best way to attack the problem so I rely on you to tell me what I need to know.

Hello to all! I received foxdigi and finally got connected to radio, However,
it will not repeat. It will beacon that is for sure but to nothing as cannot be
found anywhere in aprs sites.

I have double checked connections to radio and all is working properly.

There is a lot of APRS activity here in the san diego area but I am baffled as
to what could be the issue. I ve read over the entire APRS mumbo Jambo in
APRS.org site which to the beginner is so confusing.

If any of you guys out there have any input or has run into this problem
please share the knowledge. Another thing .

Hi
can any one tell me how to use the Fox-digi as a TNC? I can not seem to be able
to get out of config mode. Maybe there is a command for that?

By the way. I am using a program called Terra Term for configuration. Connects
very easily and is easy to setup.
