WELCOME ABOARD! The Friends of the Four Ships. This is for all shipmates who served in HMS Amethyst, HMS Consort, HMS London and HMS Black Swan to keep in touch with each other. Please give information about yourself as to what ship/rank/period served on either of the four ships. Photos are always appreciated.
This is a place especially for family members and their friends and it is also a great place for personal research. There are never before seen photo's, and we will keep you up-dated with relevant issues. Many other ship's were there at the time H.M.A.S Shoalhaven, with written documents from several people who served on the various ships. Another very important ship assisting the wounded was USS Repose AH16 Hospital ship. HMS Cossack is mentioned who buried two at sea from HMS London and not forgetting the RAF Sunderland who was nicknamed The Porcupine! The HungJao Public Cemetery in Shanghai is the latest topic for discussion and there is a 45 minute documentary of the cemetery now a beautiful park taken June 2002, an up-dated version is well underway with new film footage.
There is a page of remembrance to all those who fell/wounded during April 20th 1949 in the Links section. There is the USS Repose Hospital ship's log report dated 21st-26th April 1949 gives some very interesting reading. Also the diary of Horace Graig radio operator from the US LCI 989 that picked up the wounded in Shanghai. It is desirable to have a profile when you join but not a prerequisite in becoming a friend of the four ships, your preference for anonymity is respected.
