Assist in supplying
Smurfit Stone Container Corporation (SSCC) mills with high quality, low
cost fiber through open market and Timber Cutting Contract (TCC)
purchases.
Responsibility
·
Complies with established federal, state, local, corporate and division
safety rules and procedures. Reports and/or corrects hazardous conditions
and unsafe working conditions that can cause injury to fellow employees,
contractors, the general public, or · Plan, negotiate the
purchase, and supply wood fiber and wood fuel in the quantities, at the
quality, and with timing as required by the organization, to meet mill
consumption and/or internal inventory requirements. · Negotiate, initiate,
and administer contracts and agreements with assigned wood suppliers. · Negotiate, initiate, and
administer contracts and agreements for the sale of stumpage and/or
delivered products to trade sale customers. · Initiate, develop, and
maintain business relationships with landowners in assigned geographic
areas. · Perform all work
consistent with Forest Resources policies and procedures. Ensure the
security of company assets. · Participate in
outreach and education efforts of loggers, landowners, and the general
public as assigned. · Estimate volumes and
values of tracts of standing timber for potential purchase by SSCC. · Perform all work
consistent with the procedures and documentation requirements of the
Forest Resources Environmental Management System (EMS).

Basic
Qualifications
BS in either
Forestry, Natural Resouces or Forest Resources or 2-3 years timber
management or wood procurement experience
