Job Description: Contract
position responsible for accurate and timely creation of data for oil and gas
leases, units, contracts, pipelines, easements and rights-of-way in an
ESRI-based GIS environment. Using ESRI general editing tools, will digitize
data from various sources, such as legal documents, land plats, metes and
bounds descriptions and township & range descriptions (Jeffersonian
Survey), in order to create and maintain project data. Coordinate with landmen,
lease analysts, geologists, engineers and other customers to provide mapping
support for ongoing projects and to reinforce data quality and accuracy. Create
custom maps on demand. Provide GIS solutions for both technical and
non-technical personnel.
Requirements: Required
skills: Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS. Microsoft Office applications
including Excel and Powerpoint. Knowledge of projections and conversions.
Plus skills: MS Access or other relational database (especially SQL queries),
GeoGraphix, or
Education and experience: Associate's degree in GIS, Geography, Geology,
Cartography or related field with GIS emphasis. 1-2 years of experience working
with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop software. Experience working with, or the ability to
learn, township and range and metes and bounds legal descriptions.
