"Food Not Bombs" itself is a group that is dedicated to non-violent social change, with hundreds of autonomous chapters sharing free vegetarian food with hungry people across the planet and is one of the fastest growing revolutionary movements.

The Food Not Bombs of Saugeen Shores is not a charity. Rather it is an energetic grassroots movement that has been created to help reduce food wastage in the area, to provide people in the community ways to connect with the food they eat, to provide low income families access to food, and to encourage a connection with other community members who would like to co-operatively volunteer so that people can have an outlet for raising awareness of other important issues.

This is done by recovering food doated from local businesses that would otherwise be thrown out and making fresh hot vegetarian meals that are served outside in public spaces to anyone without restriction.
