On August 26th 2003, the Pinellas County Commission voted to begin putting fluoride into the Pinellas County water supply. Fluoridation is (was) scheduled to begin by June of 2004, and did, in spite of the best efforts of many, commence in 2004.
This discussion group (list) was formed to allow interested Pinellas County (and vicinity) citizens to discuss the fluoride issue as well as possible actions which might be taken to cause the reversal of the County Commission decision and (now) to stop fluoridation. The discussion is ongoing.
This is an "open" list* (anyone may join), and it will remain so unless we start to have *"off-topic" messages, traffic from pranksters or too many messages from outside of Pinellas County and the Tampa Bay area.
This group (list) is intentionally NOT listed in the Yahoo Group Directory to avoid getting too many members from outside the local area. Therefore news of it will have to be spread by "word of mouth" (or perhaps, more likely, "word of mouse").
All messages are archived on this site. If you are a new member, you may want to review some of those archived messages to gain some perspective on what kind of discussions have taken place.

* Note: There has lately been some dispute as to what is "on-topic" and what is "off-topic". To clarify: What is and is not "off-topic" will be determined by the subjective judgment of the list owner. The list owner maintains this list as a free service to those interested in the fluoride issue and has limited time to devote to it. Those who violate Yahoo restrictions, or who annoy the list owner sufficiently, will be summarily blocked.
