Yes, I'm still alive.  Just very busy with real life. LOL  In May the Obrechts were proud to announce that Arianna Hayden was added to the household.  She's now 5 months old and crawling and keeping mommy, daddy and her 3 big sisters VERY busy. ^^

I have one new painting available as mini prints, stickers and magnets:  A Light in the Dark.  My piece for Breast Cancer Awareness for 2009.  I'm pleased to be able to offer a special piece for BCA for the 3rd year in a row.  I've auctioned off the original on eBay and am proud to donate half the proceeds from the sale of it (and of A Moment of Solace) to the American Breast Cancer Foundation!!

Up Your Art also donated 100% of proceeds from the sale of the tube of A Light in the Dark to Breast Cancer Awareness and Research for a week earlier in October.  The tube is still available at Up Your Art, though the donation promotion is over.

I'd also like to announce that I have special Limited Edition 4x6's available of all three Breast Cancer Awareness pieces.  Limited Edition runs of 25 printed on 100% cotton rag fine art paper and hand embellished by me to look like the original.   First Class Postage is free and half the proceeds will also be donated to the ABCF!!  #1/25 is available for all three images as of the distribution of the newsletter!!

It's been a while since I'veupdated, but I can honestly say that it's been worth it!

AMoment of Solace is up for auction on Ebay.  Half of the proceeds fromthe auction will be donated to the AmericanBreast Cancer Foundation, as I did last year.  UpYour Art will also be donating 100% of sales from this tube to a BreastCancer Awareness foundation from Oct. 1st-Oct. 3rd.  There are also SpecialEdition prints which are hand embellished 5x7's on vellum paper of AMoment of Solace available through the month of October only.  1/2 theproceeds of these special sized prints will also be donated to the AmericanBreast Cancer Foundation!!

It's been far too long since I last updated.  My apologies.  It's been hectic in the Obrecht household, shall we say?

Sorry, but there's no new art at this time.  I did revise a painting from last year for the local county fair: Pink Flora.  I added some depth and shading to the piece, but no completely new art at this time.

I am currently working on a new Geisha OSWOA that should be finished by the end of the month, hopefully.  I'm hoping to have more time to art once school starts in just over a week.

I do have a lot of news for you guys though!!

First off, Christina at Candles Enchanted has released 3 new images available in many different candle formats: My Only Friend (cherry almond), Ornament Faerie (eggnog) and The Ornament Hanger II (mulberry).  Her candles are to DIE for!!  And she uses soy wax in all of her candles!!  A real plus for an Iowa girl like me. :P  

I am also pleased to announce that I have 2 new images up at Ellen Million Graphics: My Only Friend and Sweet Revenge!!  Ellen has a whole range of products featuring my art from mouse pads to t-shirts to magnets to totes and much, much more.

Last month I participated in a local Art Festival in my hometown: The Crazy Days Art Festival.  It was a blast and so nice to see so many familiar faces!!  And so many more artists participated than last year.  Nice to see it growing.

I also entered my art and photography into the Hamilton County Fair.  I was happy to see that My Only Friend and Lost in Memories got 1st place finishes!  Sweet Revenge, Seion, Over the Edge and the revised Pink Flora got 2nd place finishes!!  I also got 3 first place and 6 third place finishes for my photography.  My best showing ever for the County Fair!!

Up Your Art has new images available for tubing also: Full Moon, Empty Heart, Loli Curls, Sweet Revenge and Over the Edge.

I have updated my Cameo page.  Many new cameos are now available!  I've been adding a few extra touches to my cameos...the extender chains now have cute little flower or heart drops at the ends.  I also have a few different ribbon types available for the cameos.  Black satin, black organza or a black organza/satin stripe.  Please specify what type of ribbon you would like in the comments section at checkout.  If no ribbon is specified, one will be randomly chosen.

New bookmarks have been designed and added also.  The Zodiacs are now available as bookmarks!  Also Loli Curls, Sweet Revenge and Over the Edge have been added as bookmarks.

I think I finally figured out how to update my site now that FPEs are no longer allowed on my website host.  I use FrontPage and was afraid that I'd have to use a new program and start from scratch.  Thank Goodness!!

I have completed 3 paintings since my last update: Sweet Revenge, Over the Edge and Loli Curls.  They're all available in the Gothic/Dark Art Gallery.  They're all also available as minis, magnets, stickers and greeting cards.  (Loli Curls is NOT available as an 8.5x11 print...the original is too small)

I've also just returned from DemiCon!!  I stayed the whole weekend with family in DesMoines and got to see the whole con from start to finish.  I had prints, minis, magnets, stickers, bookmarks, cameos and candles at my table in the Dealer Room.  I also had matted/hand embellished prints and framed/matted originals in the Art Show.  

I had so much fun, that I'm already registered for next year.  I haven't decided if I'm doing a table or not, but I'm definitely going to the con!!  And as a special treat my friend, and fellow fantasy artist, Sara Butcher will be Artist Guest of Honor for next year's con!!  

I also was awarded the Best Amateur Group (collection) award in the Art Show!!  o.O  I was so surprised and honored!!  Totally unexpected.

I'm thinking first of the month updates are a thing of the past. :P

I have completed 2 OSWOAs: Gothic Rainbow and Flowery Geisha.  Both originals are available on eBay this week!!  They're also available as mini prints, greeting cards, magnets, and stickers.  Gothic Rainbow can be found in the Gothic/Dark Art Gallery, and Flowery Geisha can be found in the Misc. Fantasy Gallery.  I currently have 2 larger pieces in the WIP stage, so I'm hoping to have a great (and on-time) update for April.  We'll see if it can be done...LOL

Again...a late update, but I hope you'll agree that it's worth the wait!!  ;P

I have completed my first painting of the year: "My Only Friend".  FINALLY!!  She's available as prints, greeting cards, magnets, stickers, mini prints and bookmarks.  She can be found in the Gothic/Dark Art Gallery.  I have another painting partially finished and a couple more in the works so I should have a good update for March!!  *fingers crossed*

I've also updated the Photography Galleries.  I've added a new gallery: the Winter Gallery.  I've also added new photos to the Macro Gallery, Miscellaneous Gallery and Animal and Bird Gallery.

New bookmarks have been added!!  Lost in Memories, My Only Friend, Bruised, and Angel of Awareness are all available as bookmarks now!!

Another late newsletter, but better late than never, right? ;P

I don't have any new art for you this month.  Life was pretty hectic with the holidays and all.  We have lots of family gatherings every year, and that means less art time. But a new year has begun, and I hope to be able to produce more art than I have in the past couple of years.

I do have a new page on my website for you!!  I've added a Tag Gallery to my website!!  It features all the cool tags that have been made for me and with my art from those who have purchased my tubes from Up Your Art!!  I feel very honored that these guys want to use my art to make pretties like this.  And that they're willing to do it the right way!!  Everyone in this gallery has purchased tubes from UYA and gotten license numbers that they MUST use on anything they create with any of the UYA's artist's work.  They also have to include copyright info on the tag or stationary they make.  And they should provide a link to the artist's website, whenever possible (which it is not if it is used on an MSN site).  

Please do not steal, copy or alter anybody's work that I have on the site!!  They've worked hard to make these creations and they've also paid their own money to have the right to do so.  They've done it the right way and so should you!!

They are available in the Holiday/Special Occasion Gallery.  Bruised is an OSWOA (Original Small Work of Art 4"x6").  The original is currently for sale on ebay.  The auction ends 12/15 at   8:27am PST.  All 5 pieces are also available as magnets, greeting cards, stickers and mini prints

And along the same lines: Tubes of Angel of Awareness will be available for purchase from Up Your Art.  For the week of Oct. 16-22, ALL of the sales from this tube will go to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.  Neither Up Your Art nor myself will get any money from the sales of these tubes.

I've given Flowerchild Fantasy Art a slightly new look.  I've changed the main image in the header.  I felt it was time for an update.  I hope you like it!!

I have 3 new pieces to show you this month!!!  Neko Nat is an ACEO portrait of fellow artist Natalie von Ewert.  She can be found in the ACEO gallery.  I painted 2 special paintings for our local county fair this year just for kicks.  The Barn and Pink Flora can be seen in the NFS gallery.  Neko Nat is also available as a magnet and sticker  in the Gift Shoppe.

I have 13 new book mark designs!!  I have also added hand made cameos and keychains to the Gift Shoppe too!!

I have many prints, magnets, keychains, embellished/matted prints and other merchandise available on Etsy.com.  New items will be added daily!!

I showed 5 paintings at our local Hamilton County Fair this year.  3 fantasy works: The Faerie of Seasons, Full Moon, Empty Heart and Seion.  I also showed The Barn and Pink Flora.  I did really well this year with The Barn, Full Moon, Empty Heart and The Faerie of Seasons all getting 3rd place showings!!  Seion and Pink Flora both got 2nd place showings this year!!  I also entered 7 photographs and got 3 - 3rd places, 2- 2nd places and 2- 1st place showings!!  It was a good year for me this year!!

I also attended an Art Festival last weekend in my hometown.  There were half a dozen artists all selling originals, pottery, and other merchandise.  This is where I debuted my keychains and cameos!!  It was a really nice time!!  I will certainly do it again next year!!

Wow!!  An update that is on time!!  o.O

I actually have new art to show you too!!  I have finally finished my first 9x12 painting in 3 months: Doll Parts!!!  She is available in print, mini print, magnet, sticker and greeting card format.

I had a great time at DemiCon in May!!  I got to meet the fabulous Sara Butcher, Theresa Mather and Kerry Kuhn!!!  It was a great experience and I hope to have a dealer table (possibly with Sara) next year.

This month it's the Harvester Art Show June 22-23 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  It's a local art show featuring 19 "alternative" artists from around Iowa.  More information can be found at their website or on my Shows page.

I also have new art from Amanda Robison in my Portraits of Me page called "A Dark Dawn".  She's painted me as a gothy faerie!!!

Sorry about the late update.  I had some issues getting the update to upload to my webhost, but all issues have been resolved, finally.  =)

I have no new art to show you this month.  But I do have some news!!

First of all I will be attending DemiCon in Des Moines, IA on May 20th!!  I will have some of my prints available for sale in the art show.  I won't have a table there this year, but I hope to have one next year.  I want to get a feel for the show first.  And I have time restrictions with 2 of my kids being in soccer and having 2 games to go to on that Saturday morning and a graduation reception for my nephew Saturday afternoon.  :P

I am also attending an alternative art show called Harvester in Cedar Rapids, IA on June 22nd-23rd.  It was a juried show, so I am very honored that I got accepted!! 

I am also Artist of the Month at SkysFairies.com!!  I am honored to be featured on Sky's site!!!

I've been in an artist block for the past month, but I've started painting again recently.  I hope to have at least one full size painting done by the next update!!  *crosses fingers*

Sorry it's a day late.  My internet went out AGAIN.

I have three new artworks thismonth.  2 ACEOs: SpringGeisha Fae and Flower Fae. I've also completed my first OSWOA (Original Small Work of Art): Dreamingat Sunset.   All 3 originals have been sold.  SpringGeisha Fae and Flower Fae areavailable as Limited Edition ACEOprints.  Dreaming atSunset is available as an open edition 4x6mini print in the Gift Shoppe. All 3 are also available as magnetsand stickers in the GiftShoppe.  Dreamingat Sunset is available as a greetingcard too.

I have 2 paintings in theworks.  I hope to get them finished this month!!  I'll be on vacationfor 10 days in Las Vegas (including lots of drive time), so we'll see... *wink*

An on-time update for once!!!  ^^

I have 2 new full size pieces to share with you this month:  Full Moon, Empty Heart and I Curse Thee.  Prints of both are available in the Gothic/Dark Art Gallery.  Both are also available as magnets, stickers, mini prints and greeting cards in the Gift Shoppe.  A new ACEO has been finished too: Lovely Geisha.  The original of Lovely Geisha has been sold through Ebay, already, but you can buy a Limited Edition print (run of 9), and it is available as a magnet and sticker too.

Faeries Through the Seasons and Imagine 2006 are available through Amazon.com, Borders.com and Target.com.  You can order Faeries Through the Seasons through me on my Publications page too.   I have my copy of Faeries Through the Seasons, and it is GORGEOUS!!!  There is a ton of gorgeous art by many talented fantasy artists and poetry by myself and one of the artists in the book!!  And don't forget that The Faerie of Seasons is the back cover illustration!!  I also received my copy of Imagine 2006, and there is a lot of stunning artwork by 50 different fantasy artists!!

I have a few pieces on the drawing board too, so next month's update should have lots of new art!!  I also have an idea for a new product...stay tuned!!  I also have a licensing deal in the works, and will update you on it when it is finalized!!

Sorry, again, for the delay in this month's newsletter.  Life's been incredibly busy with the holidays, the daycare, and other personal issues. 

I have 4 new ACEOs to share with you.  3 of them are for ACEO exchanges at FAE Forum: Sun Faerie, Peek-A-BOO!, and Cupid's Queen.  But you can still buy limited edition (runs of 9) prints of them in the ACEO Gallery.  The original of the fourth one, Love Fae, is available through Ebay right now.  My user id is flowerchildartist.  Of course, limited edition prints of Love Fae are available through in the ACEO Gallery too.

All four images are available as magnets & stickers in the Gift Shoppe. 

I have 4 other ACEOs sketched out and ready to paint and 3 paintings inked and ready to paint, so the next update should be on time (hopefully) and chock full of new art!!

One of my resolutions is to sell more art on Ebay, and to make more art than last year.  So look for lots of new art monthly.

Sorry for the delay in this month's newsletter.  I've had several family situations to deal with this past week including a death, 2 kids being sick and my mom being in the hospital.  Along with one of my kids having rehearsals and performances for "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever".  

I have one new painting this month, just in time for the holidays!!  Ornament Faerie is available in 2 versions.  With and Without background.  Both versions of Ornament Faerie are also available as magnets, stickers, mini prints and greeting cards.

Speaking of greeting cards I have lowered prices on ALL of my greeting cards.  They are now $2.50 each (was $3.50) and sets of 4 for $8.00 (was $10.00).  This includes first class postage to the US.  The Zodiacs set of greeting cards has been reduced from $30.00 to $25.00 for the set of 12.  I have new cardstock and they are now being printed on 80# white linen textured paper.  They come with matching white linen textured envelopes.  They still come in the 4.25"x5.5" size.

I have also added a new section to the website.  I now have a Tutorials page.  Currently there is only one tutorial available: How to Draw a Celtic Knot.  The Celtic Knot tutorial was featured in the October 2006 issue of EMG-Zine.  There will be more tutorials to come later.

I have heard that Imagine 2006 and Faeries Through the Seasons are due out this month.  Both have encountered unexpected delays, but the compilers have heard through the publishers that they will be out before Christmas.  You can preorder both on the Publications page.
