This is because we do not have the right to vote
for President of the United States.
We have the right to vote for representatives
who then vote for the President for us.
Some states mandate that these electors
must vote the way the majority of the state voted.
Some states allow these electors
to change your vote.
In either case, you do no have the right to vote
for your President.
That's the electoral college system.

PS... Florida sent a certified slate of electors to Washington.
So why is the Florida legislature meeting as if that didn't happen?
Partisan politics or the will of the people?
