The writers here started as a group of authors who were published in A Flasher's Dozen. The purpose was to meet and chat with each other about our work. With the passing of AFD's editor and publisher, KR Mullen, we evolved into a critique group for flash fiction.

So what is flash fiction? Here at AFD it's a story that maxes out at one thousand words or can be as short as fifty-five ( or shorter if you can manage it ). A prompt is posted every Friday to help nudge the muse. Members can write for the prompt or just post a story they're working on and need some help with.

All types of writing are welcome, from genre to literary, wherever the writing muse takes you. The crits are thoughtful and we hope helpful to new and experienced writers. And we try to keep AFD a fun place to post and crit work.
