Update for Break-in suspectAPD Seeks Assistance in locating Break-in SuspectAsheville Police are asking for the publics assistance in locating Julian McKinnley Rector, Rector is wanted for questioning in downtown break-ins involving rocks being thrown through front doors to gain access to a business in order to steal the cash register. Rector currently has several outstanding warrants for his arrest. Included is an updated list of businesses suspected to have been burglarized by Rector in the Asheville area. APD Seeks Community Assistance in Identifying Break-in Suspect
– Since January 6th, 2012; the Asheville Police Department has experienced a total of six business break-ins in the downtown area as well as the ASHEVILLE corridor, with similar characteristics. Merrimon Ave
Based on investigation of the incidents, the suspect throws a brick or rock through the front window, then goes after the cash register, tip jar or anything else containing money. The suspect is described as a white male, approx. 5’8” – 5’11”, early 20’s with a thin build, hooded jacket, and baggy pants.
The last known incident occurred overnight at the House of Fabric located at
Passersby witnessed the incident and followed the suspect to the area of 214 Merrimon Ave. before the suspect again got away. Hillside St.
