The last 2 years I have helped with a firework

with a couple other shows). And it is a good show.We
have every thing from 3 in. to 6in. shells. We have a
ground display which is really cool. When I get more info

The KGB SKYSHOW is THE BEST fireworks display in
thw whole world. Even better than the 4th of July
celebrations. 101 KGB FM (the best station in SD)in San Diego
has put together The KGB SKYSHOW for 25 straight
years. It is done at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego after
the San Diego Padres Baseball Game. And is a
tradition. This year was the best, over 28,000 shells in the
finally. It was so loud it made you pratically go deaf. It
is a huge pyrotechnic display played to Music
(classic Rock always with a theme to it) a laser light
show and also fireworks from inside the stadium. They
had a guy playing a piano with fireworks inside. As
he played, fireworks came out of the piano. Soon the
piano bursted open and an awesome display of fireworks
from the infield of the stadium erupted. The SKYSHOW
IS THE BEST.. YOU HAVE TO SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT.. IT
GETS BETTER EVERY YEAR....

im not much of a camera person, but i have found
that you can take good fireworks pics with a decent
autofocus camera if you wait till the finale or any other
time the display is so bright that the flash unit isnt
needed.went to the PGI convention last year and found that i
didnt need a flash most of the time-whew! i thought i
was going to get a sunburn from the better displays!

join the PGI(pyrotechnics guild international),go
to the convention next summer(in
plover, wisconsin),and see 3 displys a night for six nights, each better
than the last, all from 100 yards away. i guarantee you
will forget all about public displays!they even have
workshops to learn how to make your own display shells and
get licensed to do displays yourself.

I know this was an old message! Fireworks on
Reservations are cheaper. I live on a rez. Most fireworks are
illegal in my town, but Indians can sell any C Fireworks
to you. I light the neighborhood up, the cops don't
screw with you here unless you do something stupid with
them.

my new found love is not arial display shells, but
is the tau roll.a tau roll(or called ton crackers)
are generally a string of between a thousand and
200,000 fire crackers in a roll.typically they have
features such as double to quadruple layers of crackers
twards the end of the string. class B tau rolls also
feature very powerful and loud fire crackers compared to
the class C ones.at the center of the roll is usually
a "head roll"which is a paper covered bundle of
either 8 to 30 very big overloaded confetti
crackers(class B) or as many as 500 regular sized fire
crackers(class C).the head rolls are designed so that all the
fire crackers go off at once for a finale.you unroll
the fire crackers into a string and hang it off the
ground from a rope or tree branch by a loop of string
found on the head roll. when lit at the other end the
roll produces a steadly increasing rain of exploding
fire crackers and paper which becomes a defening roar
as the string burns into the area of doubled and
quadripled strings.at the end as the head roll goes off with
another roar(after a pause to catch everyone off
guard),your audiance generally becomes quite excited!!!the
really great thing is that these wonderful items are no
longer only class B,and can be found at better fireworks
outlets.while they are not as intense as the class B rolls, they
still are quite intense.look for brands like LOTUS
BRAND or CASSORLA BROS. for the best class C tau
rolls.you can actually see stylised tau rolls hanging in
chinese restuarants because tau rolls were originally
designed to scare the bad luck and evil out of the new
year! a lofty goal, i set one off every new years eve
to do my part for universal good luck.

one related fireworks activity that i enjoy is
collecting old firecracker labels. my favorite of course are
the pre DOT/ICC labels from the pre 1960's eras.my
favorite are packs with floral patterns and animals. i am
the proud owner of multiple packs of pristine Gorilla
Brand and Zebra brand packs that my dad bought on his
way home from the korean war.

when i went yto fargo last year for pgi, i saw
some unbeleivable rockets.this guy made "strobe
rockets that must have gone nearly a mile into the air
before the large salute on the end sent a distant boom
back to earth-wow i wish i had some of those rockets
now-makes the estes and flight systems com-posite rockets
look pretty lame!

remember when fireworks displays had intricate
lance work? lance work is when lances which are
basically colored fountains, are arranged into writing or
pictures or even action scenes.the most basic lance work
can be the american flag seen at the end of a fire
work display, but i remember seeing ground displays out
east that included lance work ships or tanks firing at
each other, with the loser either sinking or blowing
up. ground displays of this type require a great deal
of work to set up,and unfortunately the ATF changed
the fire works transportation laws to require lance
work to be set up on site rather than transported
complete or in large sections, thus spelling the end for
intricate ground displays.as the years go by it seems to
become less popular with even the old standby niagra
falls rarley being seen anymore.

fireworks from an early age as did my father and my uncle
as well as most of my family.we are probably one of
the only families who have fireworks displays on
mother's day(mom loves 'em too!),X mass,thanksgiving and
any other time we can come up with an excuse.... on
the fourth of july, when others come to the cemetary
to put flags on the vet's graves,me and my sister
set off a big string of firecrackers at dad's grave
'cause we know he wouldnt want to miss ALL the
fireworks.

Hi all,<br>I had a question about fireworks, so I
hope someone can help me. Is it legal to ship
fireworks in the mail? Do I have to do anything special to
ship them? What about airlines? Will they let you
bring fireworks in your suit case (not your carry on
one)?<br>I hope I am not asking too many stupid questions.
Thanks!
