The First Presidency has declared, “We of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints reach out with understanding and respect for individuals who are attracted to those of the same gender” (1). We are all God's children, and all need a place to honestly and openly discuss our feelings and concerns with those who are like us, free from fear. We encourage all people to educate themselves through literature stating that the feelings of homosexuality do not go away (2).We find it unproductive and hurtful to use language such as “choice,” “change” and “evil” when talking about homosexuality. We admonish all members to “reach out with love and understanding to those struggling with [homosexual] issues” (3).

FHEfamily provides Monday-night academically-focused gatherings, safe for anyone with any relationship to the LDS church. Discussions range from religion to politics to science. All interested parties are invited to FHEfamily in Salt Lake City .
Antagonism towards self-identified homosexuals, same-gender attracted individuals, or the religious beliefs of others will not be tolerated.
