This group uses the 112 fun-loving Fertile Material prompts from the book
Fear of Writing: for writers and closet writers by Milli Thornton.
The Fertile Material encourages any style or level of commitment: vignettes, poems, short stories, novels. Writers using the Fertile Material may also qualify for publication in the sequel,
Son of Fear of Writing.
This group is moderated. Incompatible material will not be posted.GROUP GUIDELINESApproved Content: Any story, story fragment, poem, or stream-of-consciousness piece created using a Fertile Material prompt.
Getting Started: New members who don't own the book yet may make posts using the
Fertile Material Samples.
Subject Line: Use specific Subject lines (avoid vague stuff like “Hi” or “Me Again”).
Exercise Reference: All posts must include the text of the Fertile Material prompt, either at the top or the end.
Feedback Rules: This forum is for having fun. Critiques are not permitted—but, if you like, you can give friendly feedback on others' stories. Example: mention something that made you laugh, how the story inspired you, or a memory it evoked. Posts can be seen by all members.
Restrictions: Explicit sexuality or violence must include "Adult Content" in the Subject line. Racism/hate literature and political/religious soap-boxing not allowed.
