Ferry Sloops, Inc is a non-profit, environmental sailing organization that inspires people to appreciate and protect one of our country's greatest resources, the magnificent Hudson River. Ferry Sloops was founded in 1979 as an offshoot of the Clearwater. Our membership is composed of a diverse group of volunteers each giving in their own way. We are joined together by our respect for one another and our love of the Hudson River. Until the Fall of 2002, our boat was the Sojourner Truth, a 42 foot gaff-rigged topsail sloop. In 2005 we purchased a 22 foot Sloop Rigged Catboat, the WHIMBREL with which we take our members and small groups for free sails at Festivals and other events so we can:
SHARE THE BEAUTY OF THE RIVER
We also offer free sail training to active members new and old.
Ferry Sloops meets every month at 7:00PM at the Nature Center in Croton Point Park.
