Don't worry about it, some of them actually get quite hot to touch but they are all normally warm when in use.....John To: fergusontractorclub@yahoogroups.com
If it is a 12v coil that is all you need, when they use a resistor it is to drop the voltage when you use a 6v coil on a 12volt system. If it needs a resistor
Thanks John, I was getting confused with this issue. I have a 12 volt tractor and 12 volt coil with no internal reisitor, and at times the coil does get warm
A resistor is to drop the voltage, on a 12volt tractor, a 12volt coil does not need one....John To: fergusontractorclub@yahoogroups.com From: jesopca@...
You only need the resistor if using 12 volts on the same coil. Twice as much voltage and you get 4 times the power used in the coil so it will heat up and
