Mailing list for announcing dance parties at Larry's house in Felton

I'm currently planning on having dance parties on Sept 21 and Oct 5th. If there is enough interest, I can make the Oct 5th party last all weekend, kind of a mini exchange.

If you are intereted in teaching dance, or DJing (or your band playing) let me know. The first party will be on Saturday Sept 21st. I plan on starting sometime around noon with a potluck/picnic/barbecue, dancing through the afternoon, more food in the evening, and yet more dancing later at night. At some point, probably shortly after then neighbors across the river call the cops on us about the noise, we'll probably have to move the dancing inside. What sort of dancing will there be? That depends upon who shows up and what sort of music they bring and want to play and or dance to. There will probably be a lot of lindy/swing, a fair amount of victorian ala, dickens fair/gaskells/peers, argentine tango and maybe even some irish ceilidh dancing, and a smattering of other stuff including rock and roll. If the situation calls for it, we can fire up both the indoor and the outdoors stereos and have dancing in both the living room and out back. What should you bring? Food and drink. I encourage people to put a little extra effort and bring stuff that is particularly flavorful and/or decadent. If you'll be dancing, you may want to bring an extra shirt or two as the weather could be warm. If you'll be drinking I encourage you to bring a sleeping bag, a pad and spend the night. I'd rather you crashed on the deck overlooking the river than on the drive home. If you'll be leaving after dark, you may want to bring a flashslight for the 100 yard walk to the parking area down the street.
