FCCHlist is a listserv restricted to current members of the organization Families with Children from China-Houston (FCC-Houston)(you can read more about FCC-Houston at www.fwcc.org/houston/welcome.html).
It is an interactive source of support, connection, and information via the exchanges of questions, personal observations and stories, and other information.
Key topics for discussion: FCC-Houston activities and goals; raising children and specifically internationally-adopted children in the greater Houston area (schools, daycares, playgroups, developmental issues, interaction with society, quality family activities); the activities and workings of local Asian communities; subscribers' evolution as parents, families, and adoptive families and parents; and adoption and specifically international adoption.
Topics that are not proper fare: personal choices in politics and religion and most information specific to individual adoption agencies that is routinely handled on an agency's own listserv.
Subscribers number fewer than 200 and, to the extent posts focus on people and matters in the greater Houston area, FCCHlist is a much lower-volume and more narrowly focussed listserv than apc-china-adopt@egroup.com and post-adopt-china@egroups.com .
