Just for fun, you might want to keep an eye on the photoshop contests at
fark.com. I think it would be rather amusing if you found one that would allow
you to sneak some magic into their, and to see what kind of reaction it gets.
Be warned, they are a VERY cynical bunch, you might want to see some of the
previous contests before diving it.

Naturally, let us know if you post anything.

I seem to remember a fuzzy version of this.

Here is a great version, with some outtakes reminding us
how hard our favorites (and their assistants) work to put
a new spin on a classic performance:

I guess you're grading on a curve? Of all the ones that suck , this sucks the
least, so technically, it's the best... It didn't suck, sure, but it could have
been better.

Like I said, it's not a "volunteer" type trick. Additionally, a with a
volunteer, it shouldn't have gone so smoothly. Even the "self working" tricks
like "Audience Dismember" in which the genuine volunteer has no knowledge of the
method, it still does not go so well. For the volunteer premise to work, there
should have been a little more "coaching" and explaining through the process.

And on a technical point, those feet really don't have the proper range of
motion to pull off the tickling bit.

Of the presentations of "Clearly Impossible" my favorite is supirsingly not the
Pendragons, for whom the illusion was designed, but the guys from "Tricky TV"
(Is that it? The one's who did "Interlude" on the WMAs). While the illusion
itself was no better, the presentation and it's theme were carried off in a much
more believable manner (if you can overlook the fact that the girl was a little
"big" for 10 years old).

I'm just saying it wasn't all it could be. They didn't "suspend my disbelief".

It's this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52HjEIHatms from 5:57 onwards,
but I'm not sure it's at all interesting or indeed a take on "The Mismade Girl"
in any real sense - it's your standard "Stack of Boxes" routine.

On the plus side? Are you kidding? This performance was way better than
most "professional" magician's. It was well trained and the actions
seamlessly followed each other, there were absoulutely no gliches.

That's great, but you know that doesn't actually insure it won't be pulled
anyway. The Twins don't have any real right to the clip, other than the nature
of the performance (which isn't very original in content anyway). The show's
producers and the network could still raise objection.

Beyond that, if the network follows form, the show should be rebroadcast a few
more times before the end of the year anyway. Whoever missed it this time, still
has a chance (assuming they're anywhere it was broadcast in the first place).

I wanted to get permission from The Twins directly before posting in on YouTube,
since I've noticed many magic videos getting taken down due to copyright claims.

Just got an e-mail approving the original WMA footage to be posted, so I'll be
putting up their routine on my YouTube page later tonight when I get home.

Look for it at www.youtube.com/djsubpar

I agree the trick seemed to have the cameras stop every other second. The
assistant from the audience part wasn't convincing at all, as there was no
banter between the twins and her. Basically, it was here's our volunteer lay
down on the table put boxes on her and start cutting her in half without before
hand telling her what trick they will be performing.

The tickling scene was there for people who are into that thing and I know it's
magic and fake and obviously the assistant was a plant, but wouldn't you think
in today's day and age that would be some type of harassment because it was a
volunteer?

This is just my take, but other than that I'm glad it was a sawing that most of
us like seeing.

perform it. I'd venture to say there's more in use now than the old thin model.

Well, you guys got your wish. They performed "Clearly Impossible" and at the top

So far so good. The Twins were the opening act, and selected Alyssa Marx Grey,
a celebrity volunteer from the audience, to assist in the Clearly Impossible.
Great performance actually, she did a good job of seeming oblivious/nervous to
all of it. Even some foot tickling!

Other than that, nothing special to note, the rest of the lineup doesn't look to
be doing a whole lot of box n' blade magic.
