Welcome to the family dance listserv! The purpose of this group is to provide information to families in Greater Seattle about local family dances and other music dance events that would appeal to families.
Family Dance Series: Family dances are appropriate for families with children age 3-8 or so. Younger children can often be held and older children who enjoy dancing still enjoy the dance. We are currently dancing at the Greenwood Senior Center on the first Sunday of the month from 3-5 PM. The Greenwood Senior Center is located at 525 N. 85th St. between Dayton St. and Fremont Avenue N (http://www.greenwoodseniorcenter.org/contact_us.htm).
Family Dance Grows Up: In Fall 2008, we will be starting a new dance series geared for families with children ages 8 and up; children ages 8 and up accompanied by a responsible adult are also welcome.
All of our dances have live musicians and live callers. No dance experience is necessary. Our dances are food allergy aware events and we ask all dancers to wipe or wash hands before dancing and bring no outside food into the dance hall.
We are grateful to the wonderful callers and musicians who support our dance and to all of the families who choose to spend their Sunday afternoons with us. It wouldn't be a community without you all! Thank you!
